Default G43X G48 15-round flush fit magazines

Well someone followed the Sig P365 idea of steel magazines feeding a subcompact 9...

Question is are they reliable and out yet? They were supposed to be on the market in July and we're about half way through the month.

Those mags are going to either make or break Shield Arms depending on reliability.

You'll need a steel mag catch...and to live in free America.

Awesome idea, if they work...

If these work it will be the case of aftermarket driving the main product sales.

I think Shield Arms is testing to ensure they work the first time.

I'm a bit skeptical about reliability. I've heard of cramming an additional 1 or 2 rounds in a magazine, but I've never heard of fitting an additional 5 without extending the length.

Well video on the link didn't give me a lot of confidence...

...blam x15...slide stop back...finger still on trigger..."they work"...

But I am hopeful that they will!

Glock mags, for all of their reliability, are not particularly efficient space wise. The polymer is much thicker than your average metal mag. A great example to see it is the ETS clear polymer mags for the Glocks.

In the full size/compact/subcompacts it doesn’t matter - the 9mm rounds stack nicely. But in the 43x/48 where they’re staggered, adding a little width to the mag body can really shorten the distance needed to stack in rounds. The 43x/48 mags are very similar in dimensions to my old Beretta 84 mags which held 13 I believe. I’d guess with a metal body and some careful mods to the baseplate, follower, and spring they could pull off 15.

If they can make it reliable it’ll sell like hot cakes in the free states.

Except that’s not what’s happening here. As previously mentioned, the OEM Glock mags aren’t particularly space-efficient because of their hybrid polymer/metal construction.

The Shield Arms mags are steel. Got a CZ75 mag? A Sig P226 mag? Shove it into the mag well of your Glock. It fits... with a LOT of room to spare. And those are 15-17 round mags by design.

That’s the point behind this whole Shield Arms thing. They’re making a regular steel mag that natively fits 15 rounds in the G43X/48 magazine footprint. And that’s why the entire Glock community is going crazy with anticipation for these mags to come out.

These magazines will be a game changer if they work. Been a G19 shooter my whole life. This would make the G48 a superior gun to a G19 imo.

Currently my favorite Glocks are G19, G48, G43, G43X and G26

I’d like to see some 10-12 round flush mags for the 43. I have all of the extensions, but flush fit is a whole new ball game!

A G43 version is needed for sure.
