Default L1A1 and accessories.

This year I officially entered curio and relic status myself, so I had an L1A1 produced in the style that I learned to shoot with, on another continent a long, long time ago.

The L1A1 "should" be a Curio and Relic, except, the receivers were never fully converted to SA by the British MOD, (despite the Brit version being SA only) - it was only by way of a stopper on the selector, hence they don't get imported as full rifles, just parts kits. Meaning you (or the seller) have to rebuild these old warriors on a safe SA only receiver, this one is built on an Imbel receiver.

Arizona Response Systems did the rest of the work and it is a beauty.

A friend of mine is producing faithful reproductions of the first pattern Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife, so I photographed his knife with my L1A1, Trilux sight and Bayonet.
(The berets are from the SAS and Royal Marine Commandos, I was a member of neither unit.)

The other image is the one ARS send you when the rifle is built.

Happy weekend whichever of the three faiths you follow.

Love that folding cocking handle of the L1A1. Great looking rifle.

Thanks,
This started as a Century Frankenstein thumbhole stock monstrosity, I sourced the wood, and sent the rifle to ARS to get retrofitted and finished, they do great work.
It is AWESOME to shoot.

Damn, That's a nice riFAL

I put together a Brit Kit last year on a DSA Aussie Cut receiver and original plastic furniture. Its surprisingly light and very handy even with its length. I think it is superior to the FAL.

I agree 100%, I have several FAL's, the STG58 I love, but it's a heavy lump! I really do prefer the British/Aussie/Canadian variants, though a million years ago I learned to shoot with one, which always influences your taste in such things.

Love my L1A1A, The Feds told the importer of the Aussie upper receiver to add the letter A to the serial number on the Lower when putting the two together. Its heavy enuff and very accurate, as long as my 78 plus peepers cooperate. Milsurp does good at the range. Awesome rifles ! Enjoy your new fun in the sun device !

Do you have some pictures?
An original upper and lower receiver is pretty rare.
