Live in the AV?
Wife and I went to the gunstore and she bought her first pistol at the Vault in Lancaster in the Antelope Valley.
She was waited on by the very tall salesman. Extremely patient. Answered a gazillion of her questions, No attitude, very patient and knew what he was talking about. Absolutely no pressure. He clearly lets the guns sell themselves. He also brought out every gun that came close to meeting her needs for her to handle. I used to work in a gunstore and male and female customers have to be approached differently. Women are less emotional and want more info than men usually do before making their decision. This guy delivered. This guy was really respectful and actually very helpful. So if you are out that way and want to avoid the usual gun store machismo. Try this place out. I don't mean to upset any of the ladies by posting here but I am very impressed how they treated my wife there. I was not a participant in her purchase other than to answer her questions. I was doing another deal but kept an ear on the wife's conversation in case the guy gave out bad info or attitude. Never happened. P.S. The blonde lady there is the owner.

great post and great recommendation, cannon! glad you also mentioned the shop in the woman owned thread.
your observation that women want info really describes what I went through purchasing my first handgun. in fact, that is how I found calguns. I went to a lot of websites, read lots of reviews, found cornered cat, talked to a friend about guns, talked to people at gun shows, went to guns stores to handle pistols, etc. and then I rented pistols and fired a few of a friend's. when I made my purchase I was confident it was the right choice. congrats to your wife......what did she purchase?

Great choice! I also have one & love it. Which, for me - revolver person - is high praise indeed.
Mine was a little stiff at first, but it settled in just fine after a few hundred rounds. Thanks for sharing a good experience at a gun shop - its better than it used to be, but good shops are still hard to find. I'm not that far away, I'll be checking out the Vault. |

OP, thanks for your post. There's no problem with gentlemen posting here, as long as they ARE gentlemen.
It's encouraging to know that women are being treated better and better in LGS's.
