Default Great Idaho Gun Show

Did any of you guys go to the Great Idaho Gun Show in Nampa this weekend? How was it? I couldn't go today but, may get to go tomorrow if our moving truck gets here early and unpacks our stuff. Is this one of the bigger gun shows for Idaho?

Its one of the bigger ones. No worries if you miss, they will be back in a couple of months. There are many smaller ones around too.

Ok, just checked the listing of idaho gun shows, and the boise gun show will be back at the Ford idaho center Feb 6-7. I'd post the link but I'm on my cell. You can find it by Googling idaho gun shows.

There's an interesting back story on why the boise gun show is held in Nampa, involving two accidental discharges and insurance rates...

Great, I should be able to make that show.
I would sure like to hear the back story about the gun show.

I sure like to see the size of the shows. Any chance of a photo in the future?

I was there. I go to every show within 100 miles. Thereís going to be one there in feb, mar, apr, june, & nov. Itís large. Takes up the entire floor of the Idaho center plus some of the upper deck. For sure worthwhile. Masks not required. They are limiting it to something like 300 ppl so once itís full itís one in one out with a long waiting line to get in. Sunday is obviously lower crowds but youíll miss the cool old handguns cause iíll have already bought them sat morning.

9 bucks to get in, parking is free. No carrying of loaded guns at the show.

The show used to be at the Ada county fairgrounds but there were a couple desk pops over the years and so itís moved to Idaho center in Canyon cty.

Homedale show (fairgrounds) is small but worth the drive as is the marsing show at the vfw. Occasionally there will be shows in caldwell at the NG armory near the airport, and also a smaller one in nampa at the NG armory.

Actually, I've done pretty well waiting until Sunday. Picked up some nice old S&W's, lever guns and such on "Bargain Day".

I saw that crate of P-38's and talked to the guy for a while. Pretty darn cool.

On a non-gun note - the guy up front with the preserves has some good stuff (really good Orange Marmalade), and there was a fellow in the back that was selling spices/rubs. His lemon-pepper rub is fantastic on roast chicken.

I actually really like sundays too. Much lower crowds and guys more willing to move merch.

Preserves guy is a great dude and makes amazing stuff. Heís also severely allergic to bees, and has a weird penchant for attracting them. I was actually buying from him a couple years ago and he got stung by one, inside while at his table.

The dealer thatís been coming from utah has an amazing selection of new guns and some of the best prices around. Traded a gen 3 glock 19 and some cash for a new fn 509 tactical last show. He gave me a smoking deal on both my trade and the guns price on sunday.

Take care Sir. We have anoth coming up in a few weeks. Good luck. Iím gonna bring a gen 3 glock 26 as trade bait next show. Getting rid of all my gen 3 guns since Iíve gone to gen 5ís.

FWIW, they sell jerky at Tennessee gun shows too and sometimes you even see a dream catcher. But like Idaho, we have guns. Like this 1949 model 94 I grabbed last Saturday.

There was a ten day wait however.... had to wait ten days to shoot it because nobody had any Winchester 32 special ammo.

Never went to that show. Boise Outdoor & Gun has taken way too much of my money over the years though.
