Default A little 80's nostalgia for ya

Hearken back to days when guns were not only welcome in California, but made there.

Saw this on a table at a show, did a double take and thought, "That looks like something I would have thought was pretty cool when I was 10"

Got back to my table and looked it up to see what the heck it was and sure enough, I would have thought this was cool when I was 10

Went back and did a little horse trading with the owner and it was mine

A goofy sort of abomination made by Weaver Arms in Escondido circa 1984 that looks like a Tommy Gun made a baby with an Uzi

Takes Uzi mags and has waaaay too much plastic on it.

I found an old issue of Gun World with the story on them. The owner had big plans of manufacturing firearms for China which I assume never happened

It was an impulse trade that I'll probably end up trading for something else.

For now, it reminds me of playing G.I. Joe with my brother and going to the range with my dad so I'll hang on to it for a while

They CAN look kinda cool in the right hands

Wow, thanks for sharing. I’ve never heard of that firearm.

And ya, I sure as hell miss the 80’s too.

In the original picture, I thought the OP was referring to the 'cool-factor' of Mosin M-39.

How fun is that - different times.
Great research too!

I still love my 80's firearms, I must say.

I prefer shooting snub nose revolvers to almost anything else.

Back when CA was a red state, gas was about $1.00/gallon, manufacturing in the state was booming, and the 210 freeway hadn't connected to the 15 yet (had to take the 10 to the 15 to get to Vegas).

How's that for nostalgia?

VERY neat. And clearly NOT a CA gunshow in THIS century.

- swarms of foreigners and homeless didn't dominate the landscape
- moose were mainly in Alaska and not in congress and colleges
- "acid rain" was the worst you heard from enviro-mental whackos

I remember those, and the Tommy Gun knock off, the Commando. I think it was made in El Cajon. PAX
