Default Wednesday Night Steel at Prado (July 17 th) is now two matches !!

Sign-up on practiscore

https://practiscore.com/prg-wed-nigh...clone/register

Tim the match director told me they're having the usual four stage match, but he's adding a three stage USPSA match.

He told me he'd rather have you sign-up online and not show up, than have show up without registering first.

So if you're even thinking about going, SIGN-UP.

Any centerfire or rimfire pistol is fine. You'll need a holster, three mags, and 125 rounds of ammo.

I'm on squad six with Ray (gun) Reyes. Join us?

It starts at 4:00pm. It's a cold range, and you CAN ONLY HANDLE YOUR GUN IN THE SAFE ZONE.

DO NOT BRING AMMO INTO THE SAFE ZONE WITH YOU !!

Does the steel match use actual steel challenge stages?

Best advice I got was: You can't miss fast enough.

That's generally true, unless I'm shooting a revolver at a Texas start. Then I just cap eight rounds down range as fast as I can, then move on

There's a match scheduled for Sept. 18. I guess we'll find out then if there's any more scheduled for the rest of the year.

If people weren't dicks, and shot one gun at a time, it would go much quicker. This non sense of shooting your pistol, then immediately shooting your pcc is bull ****.

Good match tonight. I really like the stages. Thanks for bringing out your steel.

73 this month, 70 last month, 73 the month before, so the numbers are stable. What time did it end, before it got dark?

Some of the shooters started using flashlights, I brought out my battery LED worklight to see if it was bright enough to shoot with.

I was told at 7:30 to tear down my stages. We were out of there by 8:15.

How does that work, do they pay additional entry fees for each weapon?

In sporting clays shotguns you shoot one gun start to finish, put it away, shoot your second gun. So if you want to shoot 12ga and 20ga, that's how it's done.

Last month here people were shooting their pistol, then while still standing on the firing line, unbagging their PCC or RRO, and shooting the stage again.

If you don't know what a PCC or RRO is, you shouldn't be shooting two guns at your first match.

This month's match was leaps and bounds more fun than last month's. The stages were USPSA stages, instead of multi-string Steel Challenge-ish stages.

And nobody crying about "mulligans"

I only shoot one gun at the local USPSA match, but if someone is paying two entry fees I wouldn't have an issue with them shooting two guns in the same squad. Maybe I don't understand the issue though....what's the alternative....make them join two squads and shoot a different gun in each squad?

The issue is, you're waiting to shoot while this goofball is bagging and un bagging his guns. Or worse, he's shooting a second gun, while wearing his first gun on his belt.

One mis step and the gun on his belt goes flying. I've seen it happen. Instead of DQ-ing the shooter, the RO just picked it up and let the shooter continue.

You want to shoot two guns, great. Shoot one gun start to finish, dump that gun in your car, shoot your second gun start to finish.

There isn't an issue EVERY sanctioned USPSA match that I have been to have been the same procedure for double entries. You shoot one gun, bag it there and shoot the other. Doesn't make sense to shoot the match with one gun and then re-shoot the whole match again with a different gun.

You're going to wait regardless or not the shooter is doing a double entry. Seems like you have an issue with waiting for squads to finish. If that's the case, shooting these matches is not for you.

If my squad is behind a 5 man squad, fine. But if everybody in the squad in front of me is shooting two guns, now we're behind a 15 man squad do to all the dicking around.

What if everybody in the squad in front is shooting open, limited, pcc, rro, and co? Now I'm behind a 75 man squad?
