Thoughts-? Rock Slide USA aftermarket slides for Gen 3 Glocks?
I’d like to shoot 40 through my G19, so I’ve decided to buy a complete aftermarket G23 slide (rather than piece together one myself). CalGunners, what’ve are your opinions on Rock Slide USA products? The first option listed on this link looks like a good deal, and is the complete slide I’m considering buying:

https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1634543 It would seem that it (Rock Slide) is NOT as durable/reliable, ie., the slides being thin... YMMV. I opted to go with Suarez, and it got shipped out in 3-days. _ |

I've bought two so far. The first, a G17 size slide, fit and operated correctly on a P80 frame. The second, received today, has a rear sight dovetail so tight that a factory Glock plastic rear sight could not be installed. Filing the dovetail corrected this and a little touchup paint covered the filed areas. After that, a factory sight installed easily.
As for durability, I've had no issues with the 9MM full size slide with about 200 rounds into it so far. We'll see about the new slide - it's a 10MM so if it's "thin", that'll show up pretty quickly. Looking at the slide, I doubt it. Looking at the thread linked above, the "thin" slide was a G26 with top cuts. IMO, all the fancy cuts do is weaken the slide. Both of my slides are cut for optics but nothing else. I've had a Suarez G19/RMR slide, it's good gear but pricey.

The metal they use is soft. The slide lock cutout on mine is deformed from use and is not catching after the last round. It has maybe 400 rounds through it. When I contacted them about it they said sorry....thats it.

I would try to find a factory Glock slide on the used market. Glock will only sell a new slide with a damaged trade in.

TRASH!! Picked up a g17 slide. There was a sticking point where if you slowly released the slide it would catch. Not too sure what, but i returned it ASAP. If you are looking to go cheap, look into Alpha Wolf or Lone Wolf.

Anything wrong with Alpha wolf? I bought one on ebay for the rmr cut. The slide is installed fine after a bunch of dry fires, except I haven't taken it to range yet. $180 + tax.

Used OEM glock internals, i have no issues. When you start tinkering with “competition springs” is where I ran into stovepipes and light strikes.

I got one for a G19, it's GTG; assembled with all Glock internals
