Default Oroville Shooting Range/Gunsmith

For those that use the Oroville shooting range off of Rabe Road-if you show up and have a gun malfunction, there is a gunsmith in Oroville that may be able to repair your gun, and get you back to the range in time for some more shooting.
The store is FXP. Its a 15 minute drive from the range. The shop has recently moved from its location on Feather River Blvd, to 2122 5th Avenue in Oroville, in the Mission Square. As you come into Oroville, and come to 5th Avenue, turn left at the light, and go north about a couple hundred yards. You will see a small shopping center on the left. Turn into the shopping center and go to the back. You should be able to see the store sign "FXP". There is ample free parking. The phone number is 530-533-3034. Hours are Mon-Fri, 10am to 5pm, and Saturday 10am to 2pm.
The biggest reason I mention this is that I have used the Oroville Range since 1978. There used to be oodles of gunsmiths in the Oroville area. FXP is the only gunsmith that I know of that is close by. Nothing that can ruin a day at the range is to show up and have your gun break. In most cases, FXP can get you back out to the range. If not, FXP can order parts for you. He also has guns, ammo, and shooting supplies.
For all of you that come from far away places (Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Redding, etc.), you might put the phone number in you cell phone for future use.
I hope Calguns doesn't object to me putting this thread in "Range Cleanups". I wasn't quite sure where to put it.
Happy shooting!
Mark

I was told that back in the day they had silhouette matches there and that is the reason it is set up in meters and not yards. Idk when they stopped allowing steel targets but remember back in the 80s there was a gong that was up on the bank behind the 400-meter berm almost every time I went there, but I did not go there a lot, mostly shot out in the national forest back then.

THIS I have never known them to allow it for as long as I have been shooting there. But people still do it so don't be surprised when you see them out there.
