i always look at the people with the loudest bang, curious what caliber or firearm they're having fun with. some have even let me try it out. and i try to do the same to other people.

I'm a bit curious about all this; not that there is anything wrong with it, but the OP seemed to focus on blasting away with a variety of big bore or 'exotic' weapons; shooting for shootings sake rather than actually working on shooting skills or accuracy. I see a lot of people at ranges these days shooting to improve testosterone, not to actually hit the target... like having a big/loud gun is more important than knowing how to use it.

We all like guns for different reasons. Some people want to shoot the tiniest group possible off a rest. Others are happy just sending lead down range. As long as a shooter's safe and having a good time

i just like shooting for shooting sake... the only time i get bummed out is when i fire a shot and no holes on target... but it's been ages since that's happened

There's nothing wrong with shooting loud guns, but when it's apparent that it's bothering other people you may want to ease up. Who knows, you may have scared away a new shooter? You may have created an Anti. The way you wrote your experience makes you sound like a bit of a dick.
Well said.
