Just drove by Jack in the Box. They are offering $19 an hour to start with a $500 bonus. I wonder how companies like the OP’s expect to find qualified employees at $16 an hour LOL

Because it's a full time job. $19/hr is not that much if you only get 22 hrs/week and no bennies. Nobody at Jack in Box works 40 hrs/week. $16/hr ends up being worth far more. And, this job would be something you can parlay into something better. No better paying job will consider "worked at Jack in the Box" as helpful job experience. It only helps you get a job at a different fast food place. People forget all that and are short sighted for the $19. I'd absolutely advise one of my kids to get a job like this over fast food. Good luck with the hire.

I agree. Must think the long game. We should be grateful that HS offered these positions to us. Thank you.

If only I lived closer, I’d apply.

I agree. I started as a "Customer Service Representative" in an Environmental Testing Laboratory after a couple years as a chemist analyst.

I had intricate science, knowledgeable customers, accounts payable/receivable all wrapped into a OEDA/IAO mind set to thrive and survive.

The level of skills in customer relations will prove invaluable in any future endeavor, speaking and writing well are paramount.

Small companies who are aggressive are way better...ask me how I know.

I would be a perfect hire, unfortunately <retired>.

These positions still open? If so, I'll throw my hat into the ring.

Don't worry dishwashers out there are demanding at least $20 or they will walk out of the interview.

$20 per hour seems to be entry level job in CA now days. The company I worked for raised minimal pay from 17.50 to 20 in the last two years ( in two steps ). And based from what I hear $21 coming very soon.
