Default July 4 NRL22 Match in Bay Area - Sig Sauer added as a sponsor!

[Note: Posting in this forum because a lot of PRS shooters crossover to NRL22....]

We host a monthly NRL22-sanctioned match at Sunnyvale Rod & Gun Club in Cupertino, and will be holding a full 12-stage NRL22X-style match on July 4. All shooters will need to do an orientation/pre-qualification in order to participate. Please see details below and send a PM if you are interested in shooting the match so we can get you pre-qualified.

If you aren't familiar with NRL22, it's effectively PRS-style shooting using 22LR rifles and ammo. You will need a bolt or semiauto rifle with a zoom power scope, ideally one with a graduated reticle. See for rules and equipment details.

Monday July 4
8:00 - Check-in and squadding (nonmembers will be let into the front gate at this time)
8:30 - Safety and pre-match brief
9:05 - Match begins
2:00 (or when the match is over) BBQ lunch, awards/prizes, swap meet

Match Format
SRGC is closing the entire R&P range for our match, so we will be setting up stages across the whole range.
We will be running this match in a NRL22X style format, with 12 stages. 5 of the stages will be from the July NRL22 COF.

Stages will generally be 10-12 rounds in 120 seconds or less. 25-100yd distances. Plan to bring 150-160 rounds just to be safe.
Note: Due to the early start, no checking of zeroes prior to the match. Please do this ahead of time.

SRGC is a registered NRL22 club. Although this not a NRL22X-sanctioned match, it is a NRL22 official match with the July COF scores uploaded for all participants.

Who can Participate
We support the basic NRL22 sanctioned classes: Open, Base, OG. If you are 60+, or have physical limitations, you can participate in the OG class where we make accommodations.

All shooters must complete a brief orientation/safety qualification prior to the match.

Match Fees
Fees will be collected in cash at the match, and includes range and match fees, BBQ lunch, and valuable prizes (see below)
Note that most NRL22X matches charge $80, so this is 1/2 off the price of a typical 12-stage match, making it an incredible bargain!

Oryx, a division of MDT, is a co-sponsor of our match and has donated two 1/2 off certificates for their chassis systems. Oryx makes their chassis in a wide range of inlets and multiple colors. For more information, go to:

New! Sig Sauer has signed on to co-sponsor our match and is donating some terrific optics as prizes. Now added to the prize table are a Sig Tango MSR 1-8x24 scope/mount, Kilo 5K Rangefinder, and Romeo 5 XDR red dot sight. To see these great products from Sig, see:

In addition, there will be valuable prizes for ALL SHOOTERS. No one will go home empty-handed!! Some of the prizes are T-shirts, bipods, slings, etc
Finally, NRL22 sent over some nice promo items from Bushnell. Should be enough for everyone.

Most of the prizes will be drawn at random for all participants, so you don't need to the kill the match to win the high end prizes!!

Swap Meet
We will have an informal swap meet after the match. Bring whatever stuff you want to sell or swap with another shooter. This is a good way to unload extra gear, or pick up some good used stuff.
Don't limit it to just 22 stuff - most of us shoot centerfire rifle, pistols, etc.

Reservations are required! Most likely we will cap the event, so don't delay if you want to shoot the match. As mentioned, we will need to schedule pre-qual new shooters from a safety and orientation perspective. Please PM me and we can get that taken care of.

Thanks for looking!
- Match Director, SRGC NRL22 League

I didn't know any NRL22 matches were offered in the bay area. Is there a website or mailing list to keep up to date on future events?

We are listed as a participating club on the NRL22 website, along with contact info. We shoot the NRL22 COF at a monthly match (usually) on the 2nd Monday of each month. Typically we shoot 6 or 7 stages total at distances from 25-100yd. We do upload scores, so registered NRL22 members will get their NRL22 points recorded.

Note that participants do not need to belong to NRL22, but we encourage it because it's a good organization and they have a great prize raffle every month.

We are in the process of updating the SRGC website to include our match info, probably will be up in 2-3 weeks.

NRL22 is great training for PRS, but at lower ammo cost, and much of the same challenges with multi-position shooting. And given the cost of gas these days, we are a very good option for those near the Bay Area.

Anyone interested in participating in our big July 4 match should PM me soon as the match is coming up in a couple of weeks.

Is this a sanctioned NRL22X match? I don't see it on the NRL22 website.

No. this is not a NRL22X-sanctioned match, otherwise we'd be charging $80 like everyone else.

However, it is a NRL22-sanctioned July match, and our club is registered with NRL22, and have been so for 4 seasons now. 5 of the stages are the July COF and we will upload scores to NRL22 for those 5 stages. We also include 7 local stages, totaling 12. Local match placement is based on all 12 stages.

We also don't require NRL22 membership to participate in our July 4 match (or our monthly matches), though we encourage shooters to join.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM and we will fill in the blanks. There are others from Norcal who are planning on coming.
