Health & Safety Code 12761 Any person who uses or possesses any flamethrowing device without a valid flamethrowing device permit issued pursuant to this part is guilty of a public offense and, upon conviction, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed one year, or in the state prison, or by a fine not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both imprisonment and fine.

Just saw one of these being bought at the local gun store in Murrieta. Cool for sure, but $750 is steep for a novelty toy. Though, I can see myself rigging a few onto my tow truck for...traffic control.

Why the 10’ law.?
They’re not restricted anywhere else. An arsenist can start a fire just as easily with a molotov or just a single match. CA has to restrict everything
