Default Fun match at Burro Canyon 3/14/2020

Hi, guys and gals. This Saturday, 14 MAR 2020 at 9 AM, will be our monthly NNPC match at Burro Canyon Shooting Park. I plan for three pistol stages of steel (rain is expected, so paper will be difficult) and our usual three gun stage. Hope you can all make it. I will be there rain or shine.

Range 1C, closest to the entry driveway across from the office. Check in with us, not the range office.

As usual, please forward this to anyone you think may be interested or anyone I have missed.

Allen

Mostly steel targets with the rain. The plate rack and poppers for handguns. Throw in wood knockdowns for shotgun and maybe a few bowling pins.

We have easy ups if there is rain and our range has a couple big trees as well. It usually does not rain very heavily or steadily up there. I don't expect it to affect the match. It is often raining down the hill but not up there.

The cost is $35 paid to us, not the range, as we pay for the rental. That includes the range fee, targets, pasters, etc.

Bring any drinks and snacks you want. I usually bring 150 rounds of handgun ammo but usually do not shoot that much unless I am missing a lot. If you are not familiar with the plate rack, you can go through a surprising amount of ammo to clear it.

If you want to shoot the 3-gun stage, which is run last, a box of rifle ammo and a box of birdshot for your shotgun (buckshot tears up our knockdown targets too quickly.) You cannot have too many handgun magazines, but 2 will work if that is all you have. Since we usually run each shooter through each stage twice, we may have another shooter run while you reload mags if you need to.

The match was today. It was chilly but not freezing. It started to drizzle a bit around 12:30 or 1:00 but only lasted a few minutes.

We had 6 shooters and just went with a fun match on poppers, set up differently for 3 stages and then a 3-gun with wood knockdowns for shotgun targets, poppers for pistols and a silhouette for the rifle. AS we were not sure if it would rain or not, we did not try to keep scoresheets or use cardboard targets as they would just get wet if it did rain. We ran for time and penalties but just for personal reference. It was a load of fun and everyone had a good time.

April 11 - Our matches are on the 2nd Saturday of every month. We reserve the range for a year out in advance. 9 AM at range 1C, across from the office and the first range on the right as you face the ranges. Sign in with us, not the office, as we settle up with them after the match. Cost is $35 for range rental, targets, pasters, etc.

Contact alrich77@hotmail.com to sign up for email reminders. I hope to see you there.
