Default Collared Wolf in D13?

Looks lean and hungry.

I'll be in that area for the deer opener. Would be very interesting to cross paths with a wolf in SoCal.

I’d say he is proof there is no game in D13. Won’t be long until they shut down the forest because the wolf is in town.

Hopefully he is heading to Mexico looking for a senorita

Please elaborate. How does the existence of this wolf make DFW a joke?

It’s a screenshot I did from a video my friend took. He spotted it attempting to cross the road. He heard more howling where this one turned back and ran too.

Because for the longest time they've been denying the existence of any wolves in CA... and this one is collared... which means it's being tracked.

My brother swears he saw one in D7 a few seasons back.

Follow-up... I stand corrected. DFW has been tracking several wolves since at least 2018.

I don't see one wolf being an issue. A pack? That would be a different story.

Because it’s an invasive species being forced on what’s left of an already poorly

Legs are too long and colors are wrong for a coyote.

I'd swear I saw a pair of wolves a few years back hunting X9A. I just caught a glimpse of them . Looked much too big to be coyotes

So, an animal that walked on its own across state lines makes it an invasive species? How exactly is it being forced upon us when it is wandering about of its own free will? CDFW is not relocating them.

I think it’s more far fetched that you’re ruling it out. He’s a long way from home with a collar on his neck…..

I might be wrong but weren't Canadian wolves introduced and not our native wolves that are much smaller?

Please educate yourself a bit . At this point it’s obvious you are a troll
The wolves that were “ INTRODUCED “ are in fact Canadian grey wolves and not even remotely close to the subspecies of Mexican grey wolves that original roamed this formerly great state . So yes it’s an invasive species just like wild pigs and fallow deer .

Calling names...very mature. Not everyone who dares to ask for clarification of a statement you made is a troll. As far as doing research goes, you might want to do some yourself. There is no such animal as a Canadian Gray Wolf. The North American Grey Wolf is broken down into 5 subspecies, Eastern, Great Plains, Mexican, Northwestern and Arctic. All 5 are Grey Wolves. They evolved into subspecies by expanding their range and adapting to their new environments. The Northwestern Grey Wolf subspecies was RE-INRODUCED into their previous range after being killed off over the years. Yes, the animals came from Canada, but they are the same subspecies that lived where they were re-introduced. From there they have expanded their range as they did eons ago. This is a common practice used to re-establish game species such as elk and antelope.

Super sweet double speak troll . In fact there has never been a wolf the size of the the Canadian woofs ever to be indigenous to ca . Fact , elk and antelopes have very specific sub-species that are introduced only back into their historical ranges . Your uneducated and trolly posts are kinda lame and …well, obviously a classic example of daftness .. are you a hunter? Why are you here ?

Kind of funny you keep calling me a troll. What is the objective of a troll? To provoke others to get upset and go on rants. Well...maybe you have a point. You certainly have taken personal offense to my asking the original question, which was why you say CDFW is a joke. The truth is CDFW has nothing to do with the introduction of these wolves. They were introduced in other states and have dispersed here on their own as they did eons ago. They will either evolve and adapt or die out. CFW's current position is to monitor them and not intervene.

It is obvious from your many previous posts you hate CDFW and blame them for all your hunting and fishing inadequacies. Kind of a derangement syndrome.

End of my part of this discussion. You may now have the last word.

Cute move to bow out when your trolling is getting called and your arguments hold no water
Cdfw is charged with “managing “ wildlife and yet you admit that they openly say they are just “ observing “ aka doing nothing . They are USLESS other than funneling $ to the general fund .
They underpay wardens
They don’t enforce F&g reg against select minorities
They don’t listen to their own biologists
They are the original science deniers
They make emotional and political management decisions
There should be a bounty on those damn wolves in Ca

Try to isolate him if you think that will help your uneducated position but he's just relating facts we as conservationists (hunters) understand.

Saw a news story that this was the wolf OR-17? That one they thought was dead a couple of years ago? Not sure how the hell they would know that but who knows.

CDFW believes this one to be OR-93, which means that it's walked almost 1000 miles. OR-93 has a collar but it stopped transmitting in April while it was in SLO County.

The collar stopped working and they can’t track the wolf…. you would think they want to hold those cards close instead of putting it on the news.
