Welcome to the party, Wes.

Rather than start out at the SSD's web site, it's better for folks to go to http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=352779 or to the first link in that thread at http://calgunsfoundation.org/index.p...122-sacramento, particularly since it includes the simple good cause statements which are known to have been accepted.

Rugerdaddy, Check your mail I just got my approval letter in the mail today. I talked to you in the lobby and the waiting room when we turned in our app on Nov. 18th.

Dropped app and had interview Nov 18th (Rugerdaddy, I think I was sitting next to your wife in the lobby???)

Approval letter (Dated Dec 9) arrived in mailbox today. Heck of a birthday present! (and today is Bill of Rights Day, too! How fitting!)

LiveScan asap!

The CGF gang rocks! Thanks again for all you've done! (my paltry, monthly donation will hopefully be able to be increased come January, especially if three furloughs per month ends)

If in Sac county and you haven't applied, do it!

If you haven't donated to CGF, DO IT!

I am going into my CCW appointment tomorrow morning!

What exactly does my "letter of statement" have to say?

I was going to say, "I feel I need a CCW for my personal safety and self defense."

Do I need to say anything else? Am I way off on what needs to be written? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

This is post 1810 (unless someone adds one while I'm typing).

Nobody reads from the beginning of an 1800 post thread.

It doesn't make sense to move it up to the CCW sub-forum (but that can happen, if the forum mods would like it to). And it isn't doing a lot of good here, IMHO.

But 1800 posts also suggests it has some utility, or at least did at one time.

Any strong objection to closing it sometime soon? (Like, tomorrow night, 12/16?)

I agree. Having this thread in the 2a forum, a separate Sacramento thread in the "Calguns CCW Info forum" and then having a CCW discussion fourm is confusing and I'm hopping into 3 different sub forums to check Sacramento CCW info.

I think closing it is fine and maybe you can make a final post directing folks to the Sacramento thread.

I don't want to file a post after Gene's post #1816 below so I'll post an edit to this one instead. :P

samonya, this thread won't go away just because it gets closed but I don't really see any information in this very lengthy thread that's not in the other shorter thread. And I got in on this thread near the beginning and sure have some sentimental feelings towards all the congrats, etc. that went on here.

Ty, you can take it up with Gene. I was willing to let you be last!

I would like to think that I can ask for this to be the final post with a redirect to here for further discussion.
