The prices for the 2021 type 2 Silver Eagle proofs are extremely high. The US Mint still lists them for $73 but when they are released in limited quantities they are gone in ten seconds. The big name websites like APMEX and JM have them in stock and are selling them for $150 to $200.

That is what they were selling for online when I posted last month. Today the 2021 Silver Eagle Proof type 2 at the US Mint is still out of stock and the price is "to be determined" when they become available again. Some of the online sites still have them in stock for $145.

I've bought well over 200 Silver Eagle proof coins and never paid more than $73 each for any year. I refuse to pay twice that much for any Silver Eagle.

I can buy 2021 type 2 MS70 FDI for $65 to $75 right now from APMEX.

Open $1,416.00 oz

Close $1,395.00 oz

We are at $1,800 right now so…. Somewhere around the rate of inflation.

That said, buckle up buttercup because hyperinflation is right around the corner.

I'm still buying as a collector and decided to add Morgan dollars to my collection. I bought three each of the 1878-S, 1879, 1880 and 1881-O from APMEX and I'll buy one or two years at a time in consecutive order. I'm going to stick with BU quality in the Morgan dollars.
As far as prices coming down, in February I bought 2021 Silver Eagle Proof type 1 for $73 and now APMEX is selling them for $190.

WOW, kind of like when people buy houses at the top of the market, coming from Orange County, or SD, to the way-out-burbs... so they don't miss out, even if they are late to the party, as they couldn't afford in their local-communist-utopia, where they are from...

I've seen a LOT of DBs out in the Menifee area, and ripped middle-aged dudes in baseball caps, CLEARLY are new to the area... in hot cars, but clueless.

Gold down $100 in a week? Yet we're in a state of "inflation." Hmm

You can't doubt we're in a state of inflation. It just takes time for people to realize it.

Default Nope

No that is clear, but itís not clear why metals are not responding. Is it crypto, is it stocks, or are people really going to hoard cash and watch it evaporate with inflation? Very strange.

JMO, The banks and the powers that be are doing their usual artificial suppression so that they can load up while itís still cheap and get rid of their Fiat for REAL value.

Iím sure you know that pretty much every central bank all around the world has been on a gold buying spree the past couple years. Really the last 10 years, but it has obviously intensified the last 1 to 2 years particularly.

Indeed if you follow the people with the power they buy tangible assets with proven value in the long term

By the time all the sheep decide to start buying itís too late

How do we find out what "banks and governments" are really buying? I believe they are, but most of the information about that seems to come from "retail" outlets that push metals? Are there any legit sources that don't have skin in the game?

Headline story this am: bitcoin dropped 22% someone "sold out" $1 billion worth. In the story they noted Ecuador bought a 150 on the "dip." Makes me wonder if some won't find gold again?
