That is truly sad, but speaks to a larger issue: that many folks tasked with enforcing firearms laws have disdain for those whom exercise their 2A constitutional rights. With that said, what is the rationale for wanting to know the specifics of a person’s gun ownership situation, as long as none of said guns are otherwise illegal?….And providing serial numbers?

I was only asked if I owned "Assault Weapons", as defined by CA. They didn't care about anything that didn't need a special registration.

The Feds never asked me on my SF-86 I have done every five years for the past twenty-three years. Luckily if they start asking on my next background I will already be KMA three years

If he already has 150 guns, and he applies to be a cop, then he's a rich cop. That doesn't count for the ammo that go with 150 guns. Lol.

what is the purpose of this? so they can screen out potential conservatives who might not enforce their anti gun laws? or is it a compliance test? ie if you lie, you deem you untrustworthy

When I got hired in 1977 they asked if I owned any guns. Then they asked what I had. Then they said good, a man can never have too many guns. Looks like times have changed with some depts.
