https://www.brownells.com/aspx/searc...6873&pid=99239

Be sure not to drive it too far into the stock or the QD sling swivel will not lock up well. Be sure and do a good tug test on the sling after you get everything mounted, and if the QD swivels pops out of the socket, back the QD nut out of the stock just a little at a time until the swivel locks up solid.

Only Gen 1 and Gen 2’s have the removable swivel. Gen 3’s have the rear swivel integrated/ molded into the stock.

Hahahaha…too bad a vertical grip is illegal on a semi-auto shotgun in Californistan.

Thanks Vinnie….😀
That’s good to know. I didn’t pay enough attention over at Sportmans Warehouse when I did the DROS.

There’s a guy on UTube who cut a 1/2 hole in his 1301 stock and attached a Magpul QD cup. I won’t be doing that….
Be well

You guys have so much fun... I got to become a guinea pig of Beretta when I got the Gen 1, a 24" Comp, a couple of years back to do 3-Gun.

But then... There wasn't much matches around, then the cost of ammo (slugs, 226, 9s, etc.)... Then the hassle of prepping 3 different firearms made me lose interest.

Then, eyes got worst going into the pandemic, but I can't attach a red dot because the Comp does not have a rail. I either buy the Tactical or get the upper (approach the cost of a new Tactical)...

Oh well...

The rules are different between rifles and shotguns.

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/f...5.&lawCode=PEN

(6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following:
(A) A folding or telescoping stock.
(B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.

(7) A semiautomatic shotgun that does not have a fixed magazine.

(8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

So if you just have to have a VFG, skip the folding stock.

OK I actually have conversed with Vinnie extensively, and he is anything but a Troll !!! He is one of the few people who have actually listened to what I had to say and acted on it with his guns and gun training, and then came back with positive feedback. He also gets the idea of the importance of getting trained. Which many here try to avoid as much as possible and then think they know what they are doing after a couple of trips to the range..

You can tell the ones who understand the combat shotgun simply by looking at their shoulders during the day. The ones that are black and blue require more instruction/practice !

You guys have some nice toys. I keep mine simple. Might pimp out a Nova. Of 3 of mines 870 is my favorite. Thousands of rounds thrue it and even with my aging eyes it still fast on target with bead only front sight. I retired it for HD duty. I forgot all about m1. Found it after 2 years of resting. Missed how light and fast it is plus ghost loading and pre ban. Nova is a softer shooter that I have.

Truth to be told I would be scared of most people on this site if they were to try and shoot and move.

I'm not a fan of single point slings. My favorite 2-point sling has been the Blue Force Gear Vickers padded sling. Have them on my shotguns and AR's.

Most Excellent Sir….yeah I also Ordered Vinnie’s recommendation, a Blue Force Gear Vickers padded sling.in OD green. I need a bit of padding for my old body…hahaha. 👍

I am also not a fan of single point slings (unless you’re just standing in one place). Single point is a good way to get your nut sack beat up when you’re walking.

Be well
Bob

My favorite Sling is my 1.5" wide slings that I make out of nylon belt material 5.11 Belts? I have them on all my carbines and tac shotguns. They work very well and spread the load out over a larger surface area thus reducing fatigue. Very comfortable to wear.

The preferred way to mount these is using the Grov Tec 1.5" Sling Swivels in the Grov Tec Limited Rotation Swivel Socket. Very easy to do on the Magpul Furniture.

On some guns there is no provision for using that type of sling swivel so a cradle of some sort must be made. Mostly true of guns with Wooden Stocks and the like.

In any event the gun must hang "Flat" off the sling, as this means the weight is evenly distributed and the gun will hang off you with the least amount of attention on your part. Also if a cradle is used on one or both ends of the rifle it must be secured to an existing swivel stud or other hard point on the gun so it can't slide off and drop the gun.

This is what I do for Slings on my Carbines and Shotguns.

It looks like they still have woodland camo, CM20 code still works... and Primary Arms has padded tan ones in the clearance section for $44.

I like the Slingsters, padded or not.
