What do you dehydrate and how do you use it? I have been thinking about getting one for making jerky but looking at the various images and seeing all the veggies and fruit has me wondering how you consume them later? I don't mean you simply eat them, but rather how you incorporate them in your meals. And why dehydrate when you can have fresh? Looking for an understanding here.

Rather than take over the "Good Deals" thread I started a "Dehydrators & recipes" thread. I have enjoyed learning how to use my dehydrator and I'm happy to share my knowledge with others - there are also others who I'm sure I can learn from, and of course recipe swapping can benefit us all.

Costco in Eastvale (91752) has Mountain House Premium Meal Assortment box (32 Servings, 13 pouches) marked down to $31.97. They had about 25 boxes left.

Dang, that IS a good deal. At $59.99 it is still a good deal compared to elsewhere, but at 32 bucks, that is KILLER. I hope my store in Boise marked them down also. Find out tomorrow I guess.

Thanks for the heads up... I will try a couple - I always like that design. I already received three Sawyers and one more is incoming that I added to a more recent order since the special was still on.

Default 400 W

The 400 watt one is $12 more than the 150 watt one - not a bad deal.

Keep in mind you'll have to buy a good solar panel to feed it though.

I have the 400 watt unit but it isn't renogy branded. The thing works great. I got mine for about $275 a couple of years ago on amazon. It will run a CPAP machine for 4 to 5 days. I throw it in my motorhome to run 5 & 12 volt devices that don't need to drain my main battery.
