LEAST Favorite- Turners in San Bernardino.... It is always slow and incompetent but the last three times I've gone in, the person "helping" me has literally stopped in the middle of our conversation to help someone looking at a bigger ticket item or left to help a phone customer . Today, Brad F. Took a phone call while telling me about a product. Apparently it was a buddy of his and he proceeded to check stuff for him. I waited for him but he never returned.....I left. Incredible that a manager doesn't stop or address these things.

finally! someone else who's been to norco armory! he is awesome there. last time i was there it was still a pretty tiny place, but he went out of his way to find me what i was looking for and get it at a decent price. great service and and he has a lot of knowladge to share. bullsye sport in riverside has good selections and good prices, expanded recently also. not really a fan of centerfire in riverside. and warrior 1 in riverside, last time i was there, most of their ar's looked all like they were custom builds. have a lot to show how things would look on your own builds.

These guys are pretty OK for a small shop. Were able to order me what I wanted when nobody else would.

Inland Jewerlry and Loan in Riverside. Walk across the back parking lot to Centerfire which is descent. I don't bother with the price gouging at Bulleseye or the long waits and attitudes at Turners

Oh, you said it. I recently bought two guns from Turners, both times they were nasty. Sadly, they were the closest. I miss Gordon's Guns in north Berdoo. Gordon had a great shop.

Turners, always a let down.

Route 66 Guns and Ammo in Barstow. Never again!!

I first visited them to inquire about doing a PPT. While I was there I took my safety course test.

Showroom is nice and new. Easy on the eyes. All seemed fine.

A week later I returned to look at guns. The gentleman who gave me my test recognized me and asked when I was going to do my PPT. I told him I sold it yesterday in Apple Valley. (Not sure if that rubbed him wrong.) He then asked if I was going to buy. I told him that I just bought a Glock 42 and was waiting my 10-days. He replied "Are you a LEO?" I said no, I bought the gun PPT. He then loudly exclaims "Thats ILLEGAL! You cant have that gun!" (All eyes upon me.)

I tried to explain. He cut me off and said "That kind of **** would never fly here! You obviously found some illegal blah blah down in LA. You can go to jail for that kind of crap."....."Since you just bought a gun, you cant buy one for another 30 day."

This last comment irritated a nearby customer who spoke up "I can sell this guy (pointing at me) any gun that isnt illegal in the state. Doesnt have to be on the roster. In fact I can sell him 10 guns right now and he can buy one from you!"

This unnerved the counter guy who promptly got the store owner. She stated the same thing the other customer said.

While I had her attention, I asked for a price on a Ruger hammer less LCP in .38

SHe gave me a price of $545.

I guess I have no desire to step foot into that store again.

Educate your employees.

^I know I shouldn't be surprised at gun store antics anymore, but every once in a while one seems to do it.

So today I tried out the new Ammo Bros in Riverside. Had to be buzzed in and out of the store through a steel door. Sales people didn't seem interested in assisting me. Modest selection and their prices seemed like nothing special. I think I'll stick with Turner's in Corona. Sometimes it is a little crowded at the gun counter, but they are always helpful and friendly. Prices seem fair and selection is as good as any but the latest gun shops.

For me, I like Bullseye the best as it is the closest gun shop to Chino Hills...don’t go saying Turner’s! If I can help it, i won’t buy at turners or do PPT there. I also like Annie’s Get Your Gun and The Shootist. Shootist has a great selection of product and a friendly staff. Recently did a PPT there and it was painless.

Blue Collar Arms in Colton is great as Well as Ammo bros in Ontario. Phelan gun range in the high desert is a small shop that will continue to grow when they finally get the indoor range built.

TURNER'S IN CHINO HILLS IS THE BEST! I HAVE PURCHASED FIREARMS FROM OTHER STORES BUT NOT AS FRIENDLY AS TURNERS CHINO HILLS. I HAVE BOUGHT OVER A DOZEN FIREARMS AT TURNERS AND THE GUYS ARE AWSOME....STOP BY AND ASK FOR GEORGE. HE WILL SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS YOU NEED AND ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS AND MORE. ASK HIM ABOUT BALISTICS! AMAZING KNOWLEDGE!!!!

Elsinore Pawn sells Nighthawk and Les Baer. Turners Corona does as well, can’t speak for other locations.

Thanks for the reply. I'm less than 20 minutes from Turner's San Bernardino. I'll give them a call.

^^^ Yup, I had similar experience. Fully agree with this.

I'll add my 2 cents and say Bright Spot Pawn in Riverside. They are well versed in the rules, and won't hesitate to receive CA non-compliant rifles in parts for you to convert later (again, within the rules) and do so at a cost of legal fees and attorney retainers.
Chris at Bright Spot was knowledgeable and a good guy to boot. My first experience with them was at their old location on Van Buren where I bought an SKS. I just found out recently that their store on Mission closed a few months ago.

I'll have to try these guys out. Haven't heard of them before.

No mention of CWS from San Bernardino? I know they shut their doors in '13~'14. That shop had its moments.

The guys at Daves are actually really cool if you become a regular there. They are just kind of stand-offish because of all the San Bernardino riff-raff they deal with. Im just speaking from my experience of course YMMV......

In the IE, my favorites are the Shootist in Murrieta and 2A Zone in Rancho Cucamonga/Alta Loma.

I don't know if the business is still going, but here is a post from a post on the first page of this thread back in 2013:

Quote:
Although a very small outfit, I would like to give a plug for:

Charlie's Gunshop / urban tactical in Apple Valley, CA off Outer Highway 18.

He is a good guy, shoots 3 gun, NRA member, veteran, etc. I truly appreciate and respect the fact that it is a FUD FREE ZONE at his shop!

A hidden gem in Apple Valley IMO
A google search of Charlie's gun shop returns Charlie's Urban Tactical Supplies in Apple Valley, so it's probably the one the poster was referring to.

Good Luck.

I’m late to the party here but here’s my 2 cents on I.E. gun shops.

Turners (any location) only if I have to. A PPT takes over an hour to complete, their selection is geared toward the novice shooter. I did take advantage of their pre July 1 ammo sale.

The Shootist- I did a PPT there, good selection of product and I had zero issues with service.

Ammo Bros.- I did a PPT here a month ago, good service and selection

Bullseye- I like dealing with guys there but the product selection has been very thin of late.

Annie’s- I’ve done a couple PPT there and purchased a gun...excellent service, no pressure. Very nice people.

BPS- has nothing there for me.

I am going to have to check out Warrior 1, they may have gear I am interested in.
I go to Las Vegas a lot so I do frequent the shops there and get pissed immediately due to their selection and prices for our “off roster” guns.

But they do have a good selection of product in the stores, and the stores are usually full of people! I am somewhat spoiled by the Vegas gun shops. Yes, they know who the California shoppers are, we aren’t fooling anyone...LOL

Time to necro this thread.

Gun Locker in Hesperia is pretty cool. I went in there before the Covid scare and shut down. Good People.

Bullseye is still number 1, had 1k rounds of 9mm for me at a good price. In and out in 20 minutes.

Turners in Corona is alright. If there is a deal, I'll head over.

Ammo Douche in Riverside needs to shutdown. They don't care about business or making sales. Pompous douches. Note, there location in Ontario is still okay.

Just did a PPT in Ryenex in Chino Hills. Guys were chill and took all of 20 min in and out. Wall selection was sparse which is to be expected these days.

Turner's in Chino Hills never had issues.

Although technically not IE (close to border), Aeon Tac my preference.

Morning guys,

I realize this thread is old but hoping someone from the area can help me out:

Anyone know of a store that’ll do an AMMO ppt on a Sunday?

A lot of stores mentioned in here are no longer around unfortunately.

Not friendly to everyone. In fact they were pretty down right rude the one and only time I tried making a purchase there.

Never had a problem at ASK but never bought anything yet. CWS is long gone and had some issues the owner is now a convicted felon.

Last time I went to Highland I got a little attitude and the prices aren't usually that great. I bought a few things there over the years but haven't been back but like once in the pandemic.

Once was enough at both places.
Took my money and spent it elsewhere.
I would prefer to shop local and shop with a small business but when they treat you with attitude they can keep their stuff.

Yes I had a line to wait in and yes I drove further but I got what I wanted elsewhere.

I like A.S.K defense. I've only done a few ammo purchases from them and a few other odds and ends. They seem to be a well rounded gun shop. My next gun purchase will be from them. I did a ppt at Blue Collar in Colton that went quickly and smoothly. They just aren't my cup of tea when it comes to gun related stuff. I'm more of a low key type and don't really go for the tachticool stuff. To each his own. I go to a gun shop for a purpose and getting treated with the warm fuzzies isn't one of them. To develop a good relation with a shop is a bonus. When you walk into a shop of any kind remember that they don't know you anymore than you know them. I go to the grocery store to by groceries and the gun shop to by gun stuff, not make friends. Though I will agree that if you treat me like I'm stupid from the get go I'm out. Your demeanor will basically determine the outcome. So don't be milktoast or act like the world revolves around you, you might be surprised.

Cool I will have to check them out thanks.
