Default Help incomplete %80 lower with no bolt catch pin holes

Hi I bought a %80 lower over a year ago cerakoted in burnt bronze. I completed the jig part and was finished perfectly. So I started putting the lower parts kit and when I get to the bolt catch detente pin, I realize there’s no bolt catch detent pin holes in the %80 lower. All %80 lowers are supposed to come with pre drilled holes. I was pissed and don’t know what to do, I don’t have tools for that sorta thing and need someone who knows what there doing to help me, I will pay. Thanks

Your lower had some pre drilled holes.
Just not all of them...

It's your job to drill the rest of them.

"I will pay. "

And that is illegal.

At this point 80% is a legal snake pit. I suggest buying a receiver on the up and up. Or, move out of California.

This.
I've had 80% that had the selector hole drilled, and those that don't. The BATFE has changed standards several times on what is and what isn't a "firearm"

Consider yourself lucky that you only need to drill a few more holes. There is no "specification" for 80% lowers other than "If it is machined in "x" manner it is a firearm"

Some have built 80% lowers that do not have the magwell cut.
They were still "80%" lowers... there is no such thing as 60%/40%/20%/0%

Yep
I hope you applied to the DOJ for an FMBUS serial number and know that you are going to have to engrave that number AND your full personal name onto that lower.

You can't build an AR pistol out of it anymore, you can't build a featured AR, and you can't build an "off the books" rifle with it.
Seriously... if you want to build an AR pattern rifle, just cut the 80% up and buy a commercial lower that won't have your name engraved on it.

If this is the missing hole

You can drill it out using a 5/32 drill bit. I’d drill a pilot hold using a smaller bit and then the 5/32 bit. Go slow and test depth by dropping in the spring. It should just barely go past the top of the hole

That's the easy missing hole... it's the roll-pin hole I wouldn't want to drill.

OP, maybe check and make sure your takedown pin detent and selector detent holes are drilled as well.

Roll pin hole is easy.
You use a 6" long 3/32" drill bit.
I made a fixture that clamps to the reciever and holds the drill bit in alignment.

If OP has already worked on the lower with a jig, it's already a firearm, thus any further work on it should be no different than any other firearm.

OP, if AR15 barrels will do it, stop by and have him do it while you wait. There is not much alternative to his jig I can think of.

All I did was look at a set of lower receiver blueprints to see where the bolt catch hole is located in relation to the top plane and centerline of the recevier.
Then I made the jig so it can sit atop the reciever to locate the hole.
I clamp the jig to the reciever with a C-clamp and then mount the jig in the mill vise so that the drill bit is sticking up.
Then I center the drill bit over the hole in the jig and run the drill bit down through the hole and the two ears of the reciever.

I have drawers full of fixtures for drilling a single hole or doing one thing.

Really? Can you please show me where that is written and who is in charge of deciding what is an "80%" receiver and what isn't? I've seen "80%" lowers where you had to drill the FCG holes. I've seen some that you had to drill and tap the tower (where the buffer tube goes). The only things an "80%" receiver is supposed to come with is at least 20% of the work still needs to be completed. There are no rules for which +20% that is. Now, if you want someone else to complete your receiver legally, go find an 07FFL that is willing to take the job.
