CCW Interview Monterey Park
So I finally got my call to set up my interview 11 months after applying. However I had to play phone tag with the detective for the better part of a week before we got on the phone. I'm set for Thursday morning in Monterey Park; however, he told me I'd be getting an email with instructions "within 5-10 minutes." That was yesterday morning and I've still not gotten it. I sent an email to the LASD CCW unit through their website, but I don't know if they'll reply in time.
My intention is to show up on time (well, early, of course) but I don't know what I'm supposed to bring or where to go. Anyone done their interview in Monterey Park and can tell me where I'm supposed to go? Additionally: the LASD website says to bring a utility bill, amongst other things, "NO EXCEPTIONS." I don't pay for any utilities in my apartment, is my car registration, lease, and cell phone bill going to be enough to make due? Last edited by billofrights; 09-20-2022 at 10:51 AM.. |

I have been there are few times. You will drive up, there is a Guard Shack, tell them you are there for a CCW appointment. You will be directed to drive through the parking lot, past the southern guard shack and park along the hillside. Park, walk into the main entrance, tell the Guard at the Desk you are there for a CCW Interview, they will seat you right behind the Guard Desk. Wait until they call your name. I am assuming you need to bring paperwork with you of some sort, I always see the folks sitting there either have a check or some paperwork with them.
I am in there a few times a year, the seating area is only for CCW Applicants, if you have other business they either call for the Deputy to come and get you at the Guard Desk, or if you are on the trusted list, I am, I get to walk to where I need to on my own. I provide them with some specialty hardware, they are not wild I am no longer a Cali Company, they prefer to spend Cali tax $$$ in Cali. EDIT: My friends who went said to see the list of documents on LASD's website, bring them with you, they will make copies and hand them back to you while you are being interviewed. They sent this to me, hope it helps you. This was back when they required GC, so the last line may not be applicable anymore. Last edited by Usual_Suspect; 09-20-2022 at 12:16 PM.. |
