Default Crosman .177 BB's are so low cost - wow, why?

I stumbled across Crosman Copperhead .177 BB's on Amazon for about $6.83 and I thought it was a bargain, so I bought 4 packs. Now I'm shopping on Midway USA for something else and found the same pack of 6000 Copperheads for $6.83 as well. Compared to Daisy zinc plated, these are so cheap!

Anyone know why that is??

(Yes, I've heard Crosman BB's are among the worst, but guess what, for decades, that's the only BB I've ever used with no problems for casual plinking.)

I wish they made .22bb for .22 airguns, even if they costed 3x as much as .177.

Yeah for the 6k bottle that is def cheap... Walmart has the 6k Daisy bottles for under $8.

Anyone know the lowest price on the 40 pack of Crosman CO2 12g's ? I think Walmart is about $19 in-store.

$19 for a 40 pack is a really good price. I checked eBay just now and am seeing bulk packs for about $0.73 each up to $1 or more each. I don't think we can beat $0.50 each anywhere else.

Didn't know that Walmart sells the 6K Daisy BB's for under $8, I paid more at Big 5, $19.99 I think.. darn..

If you don't go to Walmart, Amazon has 40 packs for $24 shipped. If you go to a Walmart check to see if they are in stock... the sticker price is $17 something before tax IIRC.

I don't shoot the 1077, G19, .357, Steel Force, etc that much lately but try to keep a 40 pack around. Just got another one so I have about 60 12g CO2's that'll last a while. When I get in the mood to shoot indoors, I go through those powerletts. Still a real cheap way to pull triggers.

Use the bb's to load shot gun shells for a rainy day.

Totally! All the fundamentals are needed to shoot airguns accurately. The skills definitely translate over!

You guys quit talking about cheap BB sources. You're going to start a run and all the hoarders will create a shortage.

More likely the flippers will create a shortage of decent pricing. Flippers reselling everything these days. I'm good... I got another 6k bottle, and I had the same partial 6k bottle forever. I mostly shoot pellets.

Those normally should cost 5bucks for 500. I try so many brands. Game has better consistency

Maybe. Amazon has them, Midway has them, I don't think we have enough air gunners on this forum to create a massive buying spree for .177 BB's..

Default Sorry

BB’s, especially non lead, are the worst projectile you could ever use.

Some BB guns are designed around them, I get that. But, non lead, spherical objects lose velocity so quickly……l

Fair enough. But when shooting at backyard distances, velocity loss isn't a major concern for me. And interestingly, the continued introduction of new BB gun models suggests there is still a market for BB guns, despite all the challenges and negatives with the ammo type. Demand is there...
