There is no specific time for pickup as it's all over the radar, so to speak; however from time of submission to the time I picked it up it was a long process.

Random question for the group - I didn't have much luck finding anything through search.
Is there anything about sharing CCW firearms between husband and wife? I realize the permit app requires a handgun listed in your name, but I'm wondering if there's a time between interview/training and issuance that a "joint" firearm could be added to both licenses? After writing that out - another question comes to mind - can anyone tell me how the purchase/sale of a firearm listed on a CCW permit is handled? Not that I'm trying to skirt the system, but what happens if I transfer a firearm to my wife after my CCW permit is issued?

I picked up today. The Deputy was nice and quick. I think from the time she called my name until the time I was back at my car was around 7 minutes. As others have said you verify some info, electronic thumb print, sign an electronic signature, take a photo, hand over your check and ID and minutes later she gives back your ID and a printed out CCW Permit.
I was one of the fortunate ones to complete this process in less than 1 year. Best of luck to you all.

I sent my email to LAPD CCW on 10/22/22 and immediately got a reply email stating that I was on the list to be called. Sent a follow-up email a couple days ago, to which they just responded, "You should be contacted for your in-person appointment in the next couple of months." Wow. Way to uphold our rights. I know they're backlogged, but damn...

If you have questions that cant be answered online, I would email the ccw unit. My livescan firearm portion finally completed and I sent an email to the ccw unit thanking them for a previous question they answered. In the email, I notified them that I was now waiting on my proceed to training email. They sent me that email as a response. I replied to the email with the applicable docs and got the received documents email.

If you guys think 8 or 9.5 weeks is a long time to wait to get "THE CALL" well I got news for you. I emailed my document on Aug 28 and got the "EMAIL RECEIVE" on Sept 1, got the "THE CALL" from an unknown number Nov 28, for pickup on Dec 1.
YES! that is roughly 14 weeks my fellow calguners. I'm just glad is finally over.
