CG Site Logging me out

I posted this in the Tech forum, didn't find a solution.

Last several days I've been getting booted/logged out of Calguns from multiple devices. It will happen if I switch to a different site/tab then I come back to CG and am logged out and it can happen just by going to a different sub forum on Calguns.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Possible solution?

Mod playing tricks?

I think there's a timer on it. If I sign on to CG, went another site (open on a new tab) for a while and back to CG, its logged off, re sign on required. I don't know what the time limit on without activity with CG but that's only time it logs me off automatically.

I can get kicked off sign back in, and get kicked off again in less than a few minutes.

Never had this happen to me before, now it's happening all the time.

Same thing here on my tablet. Just started doing it a couple of weeks ago. Funny thing is I think it might have started soon after I had an interaction with one of the mods.

With me it started at the same time on my ipad, laptop, and desktop. WTF?

I'm not seeing anything in your account that would explain it, everything looks normal and the last change was back in 2018.

Have you made any changes to your browsers, new browser, new anti virus/malware, anonymizer, anything like that?
Basically anything that would affect how your browser handles cookies?

Kes, First I'd like to say thank you for responding to this. I'm sure you have bigger fish to be frying.

Other than a new desktop computer in the last week I've not made any changes to anything. I've been occupied putting other fires out other than this issue so I've really not spent much time reasearching what it could be. But it's really irritating. iPad running safari, laptop and desktop running edge. I just don't get it. All of a sudden this is happening don't know why.

Make sure you are not in private browsing/private window mode. On iPad the address bar would be dark gray color instead of off-white.

I'm experiencing this too, I click remember me but when I come back the box is always unchecked and i have to click "login" again

Fixed it I think, not sure how exactly.
I deleted every Calguns link from bookmarks everywhere so when I typed in Calguns.net manually the bookmark star was no longer solid blue like I had never logged in here before (password manager still had the username and password stars filled in though).
Then I clicked on the "remember me" box and after I could see my account info at the top of the page, I clicked the bookmark star solid (blue, YRMV) color again and clicked done. I Had to re enter it as a shortcut on my homepage by typing out the name "calguns" and drag and dropped the url also

So far today on my laptop things are back to normal.

I will check other devices later and report back.

Maybe it was the hammer I took to the router?

Been happening to me on my phone for a couple weeks. My desktop browser stays logged in, but my phone browsers always timeout after a day to a few hours. Even if "remember me" is checked.

I could probably dig at it to find out what's going on, but it seemed like a low enough priority issue to shrug off

It happens to me on my android tablet, but only with Chrome and Firefox browsers. The Samsung browser has been staying logged in now for several weeks.

Interesting. I just renewed my ESET Antivirus. And my desktop is doing this. I keep logging
back in and the next day it's logged out.

For me, it's always a cookie issue. You need to find ALL the calguns cookies in your browser cache and delete them one time. Then, do a login and it should work. (if you don't get all the cookies, it will keep going)

I've noticed it as well. Been using Firefox+NoScript on GNU/Linux for several years now, with CalGuns allowed by NoScript. Sometimes it'll happen, sometimes it won't. It just happened to me, and it had been less than 5 minutes from clicking on another CalGuns page.

I asked this question (or was it a pm?) awhile ago. Can't recall ever finding a solution as it is happening rn. Lapop/WIN10/OPERA-always logged on. Desktop/LINUX/OPERA-gotta log in every few minutes.......

Wanted to update again. For a day things seemed back to normal. Then I started getting booted again if I navigated away from CG for any period of time and came back I would have to sign back in. Not nearly as bad as getting booted every few minutes.

After many people talked about deleting cookies I decided to do the same. So far I think it has done the trick. I haven't been kicked off since I cleared cookies. I still don't understand why this all of a sudden started to happen. My fingers are crossed.

This same thing happened to me for several months. 2 of every 3 times I opened a new tab from an active Calguns session, half the time I opened Calguns, and nothing helped. I didn't want to bother the admins but it suddenly resolved itself. Nothing I did helped; I just wanted to let you know it's not just you. I wish I had some advice for you.

iPad always logs me off when I’m switching tabs. The iPhone never logs me out at all

Its happened to me a couple times, mostly running a vpn so that was probably why.
It had actually stopped if I turned the VPN off but I've been on a VPN and it seems to be working fine. I also never close the CG tab but ive restarted my browser a couple times now. Never deleted cookies, or history.

I kept getting logged out until I marked the keep me logged in box when signing. It would literally boot me out after a few minutes of inactivity. Once I logged in and clicked the box, I just down computer, boot it back up open my browser and I'm right where I left off.

Where is that box?
The only box I see when logging in says "Remember Me".
I am using Firefox on a PC.

What device & browser are you using?

I was having the same problem as the OP and clearing all the browser cookies fixed it (Safari).
