Default Turner's, Howa1500 .308 Tactical 24" Heavy BBL, $299.86

Excellent price for phenomenal out of the box accuracy.
The fall catalog just came out and has these on sale for $299.86. My local store is honoring the sale price even though it doesnt start until 8/9. They come with subMOA guarantee and lifetime warranty. Excellent base action for a precision build. CHF 24" heavy threaded barrel.
https://www.turners.com/howa/howa-m1...win-24--725324

They also got LMT Defender stripped receivers for $99.86.

What a steal. I’ll probably pick one up if they ship.

I have a Howa Stainless in 6.5x55. I love the rifle. Just a caution to you upgraders, the barrels have metric threads which means that few gunsmiths will want to work on them. At least that has been my experience. For the occasional hunter, this rifle will last a life time.

This kept me away from buying one. The price is great but I need a 380 bolt gun for hunting. I still plan to go check them out this week.

That's not terrible. That's honest. Especially on the internet, where every meal is a banquet, every paycheck is a fortune, where everyone buys low and sells high, where beautiful models are rejected due to pointy elbows, where everyone with a DD 214 is former SF, where everyone acquires everything at below retail, where everyone shoots expert, where everyone is behind the velvet rope, where everyone has the inside scoop on everything, and where everyone is really clever, but no one else is.

I usually run scope rails and rings from TPS Products for my Remington and Savage.

TPS doesnt make a rail for Howa so i'll probably get one from EGW.

I've been wanting to try one of those new ACSS scopes from Primary Arms.

Something like this.

On my Savage 10FP I have a 20moa rail, 10x42 scope. I'm running medium rings. I'm guessing you'll need high rings.

Finally did my DROS this morning. Paid in full 2 weeks ago. So all I had to pay for was DROS.

Dont know how Turners added the numbers but they charged me $30.47 for DROS.

Where the hell the xtra $0.47 come from??? Shady as Fook!

I don’t think it’s a typo. You see similar prices online quite often.. not for us in CA, but it’s not like ARs aren’t dirt cheap nowadays.

Maybe you guys should ask audiophil for a GB type thing... Not sure he'd want to do it without enough markup to make it worth the effort - but if so you still could get a good deal

I used to do it often... These days most common vendors have common FFL's on file so I haven't had to go that route for a while.

Faxing or emailing FFL license isn't a big deal though. If I used an FFL that wasn't willing, I'd find someone else.

I am with these guys 100% spot on.

Those rifle specs just scream "for casual weekend shooter who doesn't know any better." In the course of a year, I often put more than 1,000 rounds through my "working guns." I doubt that some medium oxide barrel would hold up under hard use in austair environments where it is getting pushed hard in operational tempo.

And please don't get me started on that weird cricket bat looking stock either. WTF LOL OMG are they serious? It would be impossible to hold to zero with that thing. Maybe as a "maylay" weapon though it might do OK.

With that said, it is a good deal for the price. The bachelor party selfie squad that took a limo to the full auto range and now wants a battle rattle rifle for their self will probably love these type of rifle since they will pose and mug shot more than actually to shooted it.

I have two safes full of rifles - more ARs than I need... Having that been said, I haven't nixed the idea of getting one of these and selling the stock (have at least five various stocks in cabinet that I could use and as many various grips)...

I don't know why people are bashing it so hard. As an only rifle, no... As another not needed that we all have so many of - for the price, yes. It's a cheap why to bring an extra for others to shoot or in time of need, provide to one of the neighbors... Or just a complete beater.

Initially I thought it was a mistake in advertising (has happened) and for that reason was reluctant... Now it's just a matter of my sensible self winning over my goofy self that says "you can never have too many".

I've been trying to get Ruger to switch to the FRS-15 for a while. We replace a lot of Heras.

All joking aside, I see a lot of posts questioning the quality of this firearm, especially given the price. I do have a Ruger AR-556 and have put a couple hundred rounds through it (Perhaps 300 - 400)

It shot point of aim out of the box, and it took a matter of minutes to attach and zero in an extra scope I had laying around. The only modifications I made to the weapon were the optic, a BCM Charging Handle, a USGI type sling, and a Magpul handguard. I prefer the A2 stock with MMG as a featureless solution, and this one came just like that from the dealer. It wasn't as cheap as this deal being discussed here, but it was maybe just north of $500, a great deal.

I jumped on one the other day, order status online says "Pending shipment". Hope they don't cancel, it's a great deal. Damn people in free states eating at our supply! The reddit out of state people are probably the ones who made it go out of stock
FWIW, I didn't buy one - even though I considered it heavily.

Anyway - I didn't want to be on of the "bad guys"

There's a chance that someone at corp saw the activity and price and said "WTF?" and pulled the plug > https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...9&postcount=10

I don’t think this is some unheard of deal. Maybe in CA it is, but I receive emails all the time for cheap *** complete ARs which tells me they CAN be on sale for around this price range.
