07 in Los Angeles, SFV - your help is needed
Hi everyone...
I am going to apply for my 07 license. I live in Los Angeles, in the San Fernando Valley. From everything I have read, I need the business license to read, "Valid for the retail sale of firearms". My question for those of you that have gone through the process, how do I ask the licensing department to add that specific language? I have the option of either going into the the office (I would like to avoid this due to COVID) or applying online. Everything I have read so far seems straightforward with the exception of the business license. I will be working out of my home and focusing on this business after work and on the weekends. It's going to be a lot of work, but it will be worth it in the long run. This is a legitimate business, I am not using this to increase my collection. My business model is very specific and focused on two primary sources of revenue that may expand, but I am keeping it simple to start for obvious reasons. I would rather avoid paying money for help to get me through these stages, so I am coming here for help. I am certainly willing to pay for help to obtain these licenses if needed. Thank you everyone. For local licensing, you really have to talk with your city planner.

Are you trying to create a home-based FFL in the city of Los Angeles? If that’s correct, I don’t think that’s possible. Don’t know of a single tabletop FFL in LA County and that’s by design.

I personally tried and failed in la county. San Fernando valley to be exact. Zoning was not approved from the city planner. I went all the way to Valencia. No dice for me. Waste of time. Get your location approved first, then go through with it.
