Default I’m building an emergency bag

What tourniquet do you recommend? Ratchet?

I’ll have all the usual stuff - bandage scissors, gauze, coban, tape, betadine, petroleum jelly, needle driver, suture, forceps, band aids, sterile saline.

Anything else?

CAT - https://www.offgridweb.com/preparati...list-for-2019/

Unless know you like ratcheting (RMT-T) or SOF-T.

If Lincoln is in range, check with Jim Amentler, http://www.alphasafetytraining.net/about.html

Exclamation

CaT-7, or SOFT-T

Only 2 WORTH spending money on. Otherwise, you might as well use extension cords.

Yep, training for any of the three below, the lower the better...then you will know exactly what to pack with no questions:

Wilderness First Aid

or Wilderness First Responder

or Wilderness EMT

Ratchets take too long. Windlass is faster but RATS is definitely fastest. Plus it's cheaper and more versatile and easier to edc.

You sure about the rats? It’s not a recommended tq by tccc for difficulty in proper application and the narrow band increases tissue damage. What about the swat t or a 1.25” belt? heck a triangular and grenade pull ring do nicely and have secondary or thrice uses.

We use the SWAT T and trained with them. Easy to self apply even when wet.

Many other uses besides as a TQ. I usually edc one in my front pocket. Improvised sling for a sprained or broken wing. Ankle support on the trail. Cut into strips for immobilizing a leg/arm injury with a improvised splint.

NOT a one trick pony.

Head mounted lights.
You need all hands on deck.

Sharpie pens. 1 silver and 1 black.
Black for light colored backgrounds.
Silver for dark.

Works on skin and clothes and other.

Also a good choice IMO. Very versatile. That's a plus in my book.
