Ive already looked into the schools in Fresno. Like everywhere else it depends on the neighborhood or section of town. We will pay a premium to live in a good area and the schools will be as good or better than where I'm at now. I'll sell my house here for $550 ish and pull out a hundred fifty ish profit after real estate fees and sink that into a $400K house in Fresno that is bigger and better than what I have now.

I have interviews in Fresno on Friday and then Visalia next Friday.
In Texas, you could get a mansion for that price and still not have a house payment, keep your car as is and all your weapons and accessories. Kempner Area is nice. It’s 30 minutes from Fort Hoods gate, 2 hours from San Antonio, and it’s in the hills. No worries about tornados or flooding. For what you would pay for a house it would be extremely lavish

This.

I knew a guy in So-Cal who kept his NFA goodies in a safe deposit box in a free state.

If you want. Send me info on your car and how much you want for it. I have friends that will take it off your hands. As for everything else your selling, make sure it stays out of this state.

I'm not selling the Camaro ....AAAARRRGGHHH.

In Fresno right now. Say what you want about this place at least the Northeast side in Clovis is about 100X better than Yakima, WA.

They offered me the job. I have another interview later this week as the VP of engineering of a "cough cough " medical marijuana manufacturer in Tempe but the wife continues to tell me what a crap idea that is.

put your stuff in storage in Washington (safety deposit box) and see if the job works out in Fresno--- or your long term plans keep you in Fresno.

Kick the final decision on your non legal Kommiefornia stuff down the road a year or two, and then all you are out is the cost of storage for awhile.

If you get rid of the stuff and 3 years from now find yourself moving to Tennessee or similar, you are going to kick yourself. My advice is see how it goes after 2 years in Fresno. Fresno ain't all that great in my opinion unless you get waaaaay away from Fresno.

Good luck!

You want to stay away from Med MJ. Still illegal federally and when cities and residents opt to ban it like my old city Jurupa Valley, they will use the feds to shut you down.

Citations for use of off-highway/racing use only pipes. My pipes on my Victory are not rebuildable. The cartridge can be replaced but is now unavailable so I have to modify the cartridge by cutting open the outside and repacking it then seal it up again or just leave it alone and let it be loud. Even the worn out part is not as loud as removing the cartridge entirely

Its a statewide business with MANY outlets in AZ. I hear what your'e saying but the med side seems to be pretty much left alone and they're making money hand over fist. It would have to in the high side of the hundred range to make it worthwhile though. Ive got some talking to do with them this week. I could give two craps what the feds say about it. I'm an equipment guy.

Many years ago when I was 19 I had a girlfriend that was the former girlfriend of a friend of mine Ian. He told me " Man, you dont want to go out with her. She's never happy with ANYTHING " . I told him " Hey Ian, its not her , its you buddy ".

Three years land a dragged out divorce in which large parts of my soul were converted into coal I learned the value of listening to people who know what they are talking about.

Ive been getting my stuff ready , packing, quit my job etc and I will be heading out in the morning to my new job and life in Charlotte NC with the family to follow in June.

Thanks everyone.

Wired, there is currently a bill for CA that exempts pre 83 vehicles from smog requirements. It’s a wait and see bill but I don’t see how it won’t pass, they passed the pre 74 one years ago.

Lived all my life in Kali. And the last 12-15 years has..... as you say “turned large parts of my soul to coal”

Wise choice OP. Kalifornia is not for freedom loving Americans. But rather foreigners who enjoy Socialism and Government telling them how to live.

If I left tomorrow, the only thing I’d miss is riding my motorcycle on Bay Area backroads.

The real problem i see is you thinking the weather here is NICE !

Don't rush into a house .
Stay at extended stay for a month while you look.
Yes, there's a housing shortage but it ain't gonna get any better or worse in a couple months.
If you need a straight shooter realtor, PM me, I know a guy that's the last of the honest guys. Went to school with him.
I'm 61 and lived in Clovis most of my life . He prob has too.
There is a nice corridor of Fres that's nice without doing that crapville North side.

Couple of outdoor gun clubs, couple of indoor ranges, you can ride pretty much year round .
In summer, you get going early and get home by noon.

Been riding since i was 12.

Welcome

The weather is nice compared to where I'm coming from but that is immaterial as I am taking a job in North Carolina instead.

Chiggers, Snakes, and a whole lot of poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac.

It’s pretty out there though. Lots of green everywhere.

OP, take the time to learn to identify those plants. They are extremely common and will more than likely be present in your back yard.

I have family in Ermo, South Carolina. It’s a suburb of Columbia. They are constantly getting rid of that stuff in the off season. I encountered sumac while visiting them, not pleasant stuff. They do make a wash solution for your clothes if you do encounter it.
