Confused by the Savage bolt action model #'s
I fully anticipate getting a Savage Hog Hunter soon. I see that the Hog Hunters are often referred to as being either a model 11 or a model 110. When it comes to Savage I cannot discern between a 10, 11, 110 or 111. Any insight?

10,11, short action
110, 111 long action , for the most part 116 stainless. I believe they also have different barrel diameter 10,110 thicker barrels. 11,111 sporter 12 is a target specific rifle, action is different. I could be totally wrong though..i bought a 11VT in 243 and it had a thick barrel, so maybe your guess is as good as any. BTW..................hog hunter specific......most are 223,308,338. One has a regular stock and the more expensive one has a "accu-fit" stock.

10/110 is short/long action. As for barrel profile, there’s a whole bunch of designations from hunter, to predator, to long range, to storm to tactical to whatever. Each model contour is specific to the name. Guess they got something for every need. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
