Default New Henry's

Henry has introduced three new lever rifles with side loading gates.
In .35 Rem, .38-55 and 30-30. More calibers to follow. This seems like a win-win for Henry.
https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/201...re.review/
Go there and its the 2nd one down on the "Opps" page.
These look nice.

Nice additions to their line.

Having them introduce new rifles makes me wish Savage would revive the Model 99, which I prefer to the 1894 style. They were available in 243 and 308 for a while; would be nice to see calibers like that, along with 6.5 Creedmore, and some of the short magnums.

Wow, amazing! I am stocked about this! Now get it on the Frontier Model Long Barrel 24 and take my money! They should make all their rifles like this!

It looks great with the side loader. It looks like they kept the top loader too.
I've been asking for this for years. Now we have the option of a side loader with a top loader.
Look at the lazer work on the fore end
I want one in 38-55

I really hope they make receiver covers that can be compatible for people who would like the side loading gate for the Henrys people already have...although dont see that happening, more money in selling new rifles.

babo, you brought this up in the Henry forums. What are these receiver covers?
I'm not familiar with 'em. Thanks.

That's pretty cool. Can't wait for one with a case colored receiver in 35 Rem.

I think we're looking at a good year for lever guns. Rossi is back in business with the R92 44mag, 20" barrel and blue finish with a price around $525.00. Hopefully the 357 model will hit the stores soon.

If they offer these in .357, .44, or .45 Colt, as well with a blue steel option, Marlin might as well drop any offerings in those calibers. Henry will cut them off at the knees. I hope they do it.

The golden age of the American lever guns was not the 1870's or 1880's. It's right now thanks to Henry.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't offer the pistol caliber guns first. Henry needs to make a Lightning Carbine. If they can make a reliable Lightning Carbine in 357, they will sell like crazy.

I just want Henry .41 Magnum in stainless steel with side loading gate. Then I'll be happy. Very happy.

The only thing holding me back from getting a lever action is I want a side loader and Marlin has gone to crap.

Now, the only excuse I have left is my want for a pistol caliber.

Honestly, both the .44 and the .357 are so great, you should get both!

I would have thought "pistol caliber first". Guess that explains why I don't own a gun company. But I have never gone bankrupt either. :-)

I watched the You Tube video, and it's weird that they still use the tube loader with the gate. Not really liking that, think they will change it?

I hope not. I wouldn't buy one unless it has both. IMO, the top loader makes it much better for range shooting, easier to load and unload. The loading gate model was probably produced for people who live in free states that use a suppressor.

Mark, that is probably a good point, the suppressor. Also, I'm thinking Henry left the tube for ease of unloading rounds. Man, when they bring out the .357 or .45 Colt in blue/walnut and side gate... well, ..........

Yeah, you can't lift up the mag tube with a suppressor on board. I think it's going to be a good year for lever guns. I'm liking that new 22 revolver that Ruger has coming in May.

I hear ya Chris, this is going to be a tough month for me. I'm hoping to go on a fishing/camping trip with Cole at the end of the month.

You guys plan a trip, if I can go, I'm in

These offerings are mighty new and some will buy 'em right away. I'm holding off and see what other models come out and the price drops a bit. I hope.

I'm down for 16" All Weather Big Boy Steels in .357, .41, .44, for sure. I'd be super duper extra well down for a .45/.454/.460 though.
