Faxon 18" bbl - Socom or Gunner or?

So, considering getting a spare barrel just to have around.

Current barrel is Faxon 18" Socom. Was thinking maybe just:

- get another 18" Socom
- get something [roughly] comparable to Faxon Socom from Ballistic Advantage if I can find in the $150 price range
- get 18" gunner from Faxon - found for $139 online which seems to be the best price I can find right now.

What say you all? I do not shoot 3 gun, pretty much just shoot from bags or offhand at 50-100 yards once or twice a month.

I'd like for accuracy to at least be no worse than my current bbl, and have a reasonable longevity.

p.s. obviously I have changed my mind on "trying out a 16" bbl" in my last post from a few days back

Damn, looks attractive there but was wanting to keep gas tube rifle length.

I paid $220 for my 20" SS White Oak 1/8 wylde. Factory direct, excellent accuracy. They are heavy so it's not a carry/hunting barrel.

Yeah, I think my WOA 20" barreled upper alone weighs as much as my entire AR15 with the utility upper on it.

AimSurplus sells the 18" gunner with a gas block pinned by Faxon. Out of stock now, but I'm very happy with mine over the last couple out years.

FWIW I picked up one at ARdiscounts for a good price.

Will have to use the $30 set screw Faxon gas block, as there is no cheap .625 analog to the YHM .750 clamp on block, which I love. I just prefer clamp ons but oh well.
