Default Canada geese are back

The Western's (50-100 of them) have been here since August, but two cacklers showed up with them today. They came in with two different groups, and at different times. This is WAY early for them to be here. They typically don't show until January, at least in the backyard. Now just waiting for the Aleutians to appear.

So I went out with Bigboarstopper again, hes batting 1.000 when Ive gone with him. We started about around 0600, waited till light and started pushing out. We worked alot of terrain on one side of the property, found a good rub some some places they had been just not, right now .

Later as the day was getting kinda late round 1000 we moved to the other side of the property. Right around me and another gentlemen were talking how we were probably going home empty handed, herd of these guys comes running across the the road. The dogs we had out got on em and we dumped the rest of the dogs. A good distance (I was too tired to remember how far) of sprinting (the most exciting part) and were there, where this guy got dispatched by Mr. Redhawk. So that's 2/2 with Bigboarstopper, have yet to have anything but an awesome time with him.

Default young mans first boar

Went hunting with calguns member DWA last weekend, killed a nice hog and had a great time. Decided to take 2 young men and their father for their first hog hunt (veterans Day).

We started right at sunrise and the dogs started getting hoggy 5 minutes into the hunt. I could see a coyote on the edge of the field and thought mabye the young dogs were gonna trash run it. The dogs took off across the field and into the brush close to where the coyote was. I knew it they were on a hog because the veteran dogs started barking. We had this hog killed 15 minutes after we started hunting. Hog weighed 140-160lbs. Ruger blackhawk 41. mag

Killed this black tail on the last day of B1 deer season in the pouring rain. One of the biggest deer killed on my ranch.
Measured 21 inches high and 20 wide.

Opening day of Pheasant Season. Nothing special. We (dog and I) hunted for 2.5 hours and got up 5 birds, 2 were roosters.

How does that lead-free .22 shoot out of you 10/22? The precision was terrible out of my Buckmark pistol and CZ452 rifle, certainly not good enough to reliably hit ground squirrels.

Default These don't count

250lb YFT taken on the Q105 but doesn't count cuz it was the Fall of 2005 and everybody caught cows.

2009lb Bison shot in Nov. 2009 but doesn't count cuz it was a canned hunt (but none fenced).

Black bear taken on Klathath River a couple of months ago...doesn't count cuz I used dogs.

Since I don't take pictures of every fish I catch, most are just of the places I've been. These are from fishing in the Eastern Sierra Nevadas.

Had the honor of spending 5 days fishing with my Dad. We hadn't done that in six years.
