Default Has CRPA taken any action against Contra Costa County Sheriff?s CCW failures?

Hey, i just watched one of CRPA’s newest youtube videos on Thursday 02/02/2023 and at the end of the video they mentioned possibly getting involved with the Sh*t storm that is COCO county. Anyone have any information? I tried calling the CRPA multiple times on 02/02/2023 and on 02/03/2023 and all i got was voicemails and transfers to other people’s voicemails.

Read this week’s posts in the CoCoCo thread in the CCW County Information forum.

tl:dr Livingston basically says he’s trying his best, he’s gotten better and things will soon get even better still and CRPA is accepting that.

Lead the way on a lawsuit

Seems to be better than pre-Bruen. You should see the LA or Alameda county page. It’ll make CoCo look like they’re superb

Oh this is awesome news!!! It just sucks that the sheriff is only doing this cause he was backed into a corner but in the end the right thing is being done!

And reading that post about Livingston’s response to SB918 brings hope that maybe he will oppose SB2!

“Recent rushed state CCW legislation proposed in response to last month’s U.S. Supreme Court decision seems to create unfair and unnecessary burdens on law-abiding citizens who seek to lawfully obtain a CCW permit, yet it does nothing to address the thousands of guns carried illegally by criminals on our streets every day.” writes Sheriff Livingston. “What’s wrong with this picture?”

This is an awesome response, however i do wonder if he’s only saying this to Save Face due to massive public pressure. Cause lets not forget how hard his department made it to get a CCW Before Bruen…

Because as far as I see it, his own policy unfairly and unnecessarily burdened law abiding citizens from even getting a CCW in the first place (BEFORE BRUEN). Yes, i will admit that he did turn CoCoCo from a Red county to a Yellow one however not everyone in Contra Costa County is a jewelry store owner, or a gun store owner, or transports lots of money at night. The list goes on. He made it hard for an average joe to get a CCW. Unless you donated to his campaign or you’re special in the eyes of the sheriff, you were sh*t outta luck.

And don't forget the stupid rules about what guns you can and cannot carry, the Ban on common firearm attachments and that you can only have 2 guns on your permit.

Yesterday I joined CRPA. It appears that nearly a year after Bruen, CoCo County is still struggling to administer the CCW process in a timely manner.

Same story with Alameda county, I am nearing the 10 month mark since I applied and paid the corresponding fees and have not heard a thing since .
