Free monthly CCW handgun tactical class offer for Calguns members

Hello. I am a professional firearms/tactics instructor with 18 yrs of LE teaching and 25 years of civilian instruction.


Due to the overwhelming number of people applying for CCW, I am offering FREE 2-hour CCW handgun tactical clinics every month for Calguns members as a public service. The free 2-hour class is not a CCW training certification course.


I will post the class dates on the 1st of the month for people to sign up.


I am offering the free classes for a maximum of 6 people per class.


* The location is @ A Place to Shoot in Santa Clarita. 33951 San Francisquito Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91390 FYI, there is no cellphone service available at this location.

* The class time is between 8 am to 10 am. You will need to show up at the gate by 0750 am.
* No walk-ins will be allowed. You must sign up for the class before the training day via PM.
* The classes will be on Mondays only.
* The range fee is $20 cash per person.

You will need to bring the following items.

* Your CCW handgun, magazine pouch/holder, and holster of your choice (OWB, IWB, Shoulder rig, etc).
* 3 magazines.
* 150 rounds of ammo.
* Hearing and eye protection.
* Water and snack.
* Cleaning kit and oil for your gun.

You will have additional time available after the class to practice and shoot other guns. A Place to shoot provides ranges for handguns, shotguns, and rifles.

I took this class and it was most excellent. kjc625 really knows his stuff and is a great instructor!

For decades, I’ve been into firearms as a hobby. My previous formal arms training was limited to Hunter safety for a hunting license and one NRA class with my wife. This defensive clinic was a whole new area that took me to another level. There was a lot of information shared. Information that I am still absorbing. But, I plan to take this class again. A big takeaway for me was that I learned how to properly use trigger reset on my pistol to cut my groups in half!

I plan to bring my wife to the next session.

I managed to make it out there this morning for this class as well today. Had a great time, and learned a lot. You can watch videos on YouTube for hours, but without someone that is able to point out and correct small things that you are doing wrong, you would just be training and learning an incorrect process.

Jimmy was able to , In real time, correct my shooting stance when I attempt drop my head to my pistol instead of bringing the pistol all the way up to my line of sight.

I will be practicing the things I’ve learned today and hopefully see you next month to see the improvements.

Thank you again for the opportunity. I highly recommend this class, even for the casual shooter.

We had an awesome handgun training day with Jimmy and his partner. I am a member of the local shooting club for many years and participated in many matches successfully.

However, Jimmy's class made me a humble man. The class was full of detailed instructions and repetitions to enhance my skills. Now I finally understand why cops do what they do. Now I can tactical reload my eyes closed LOL.

PROS:
My accuracy and speed went up significantly.
My handgun manipulation is smooth and safe.
With CCW tactics training, I also learned to pay closer attention to my surrounding.

CONS:
We went through way too much ammo. LOL

I just wanted to give a shout out to Jimmy I recently met him at a meeting that I attended trying to join as a new member to a club. During the meeting he spoke about his training courses and thought I would try it out with a couple friends today we had that class I was very impressed by his knowledge as well as his teaching abilities with a little bit of comedy blended in together but safety being the number one priority I learned a lot more in two hours than I learned all year on my own. the class was awesome, I’m definitely going to talk to some of my family members about the class and The advantages of taking courses especially from someone like Jimmy. I will definitely be back for some more classes thanks again Jimmy.

At this time, we are not providing a CCW certification program.

We are mostly focused on the actual CCW tactics and marksmanship. Most CCW classes out there do not teach what we cover.

Our classes are for people who want to prep themselves with actual daily carry and improve their survivability in potential outside confrontations.
