Question Hodge RD - Barstow : Still Opened?

How's it going everyone... anyone been to Hodge lately? if so, have you seen/heard of any restrictions? we're planning a trip out there in the next couple of weeks, and wanted to make sure we were okay as the drive is about 2.5 hrs away from us.

if you know of any other similar opened land areas locally in the OC, LA, SD area?

Greatly appreciated.

Thank You
-Dan

Keep a side arm loaded on your person, the brass collectors sometimes get agitated when you collect your spent brass before your leave.

Thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated. I've been there a few times and you're right, they feel like it belongs to them regardless if you're keeping the area as organized and collecting the brass lol. Thanks again.

As with every Hodge Rd thread I post in, don't forget your armor vest and Kevlar lid.

Just go a little further down the road and go shooting around Calico... I see people shooting there all the time, both in the canyon and out between Calico road and the canyon.

And this is why the spots get trashed and crowded as everyone posts where to go lol..

I used to go to the zombie spot for 20+ years before calguns was invented, now its always packed with random people trashing it.

I know this thread is basically answered and done with, but I didn't want to start a new one regarding Hodge.

Are there areas on Hodge that allows for 100, 200, maybe even 300 yard long-range shooting? Gotta sight in a couple rifles with new glass

Theres a guy on youtube i came across (forget his name) who goes to hodge road and shoots a 338 lapua bolt gun at like 1500 yards..

Im pretty sure he's going well past the crowds and typical shooting area off the freeway, like out farther away where theres more of nothing and no people.
