Default Project Appleseed Sacramento March 30-31

Get ready!!!! Sacramento Valley Shooting Center March 30-31

https://appleseedinfo.org/schedule/?...ate=California

Project Appleseed is a non-profit organization that teaches 3 position riflemarksmanship (prone, seated/kneeling and standing). We teach you how to build a proper position, use of a sling for better accuracy, natural point of aim and more. This is great for all experience levels from beginner to advanced.

We also tell the story of the beginning of the Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775. We need to remember what those brave people went through that day, and the days/years to follow. This information is being lost in our schools.

Come join us!! Learn new skills. Dust off the rusty skills.

Im going to make one someday soon with my now 8 year old boy. He has shot bb guns for a couple years now but last month was his first .22 He shoots very well, but I just noticed he is cross eyed dominate.
Holds with right hand- uses left eye so his chin placement is whacked on a rifle.

I was using my rossi copy of Winchester 62- galley pump .22 but its the your size so barrel and stock are shorter.

I think I am going to do the tape over left eye glasses to help but not 100% sure.

Im also left eye/right handed shooter but I can force use either eye so Im ok.

Is 8 too young for Appleseed generally? He is safe, but could understand a another year or 2 to make it worth it.

If he's safe and can take direction from someone other than you, he's fine. If we decide that he might not be as safe doing some of the things, we make him a "designated sniper", he'd shoot in prone. There's a few things where we transition, unloaded, from standing to position. Some youngsters loose their awareness of the muzzle location.

The date are up on the link. Look for the Sacramento shoots.

Hope to see you soon.

If you’ve never done an AS shoot, you OWE it to yourself to attend one. Come for the shooting, stay for the history lessons. The program is fantastic.

What are the start and stop times?
I would need to drive there and back each day.

At some point, I’d like to attend an event. Timing for this event doesn’t work. When is the next Sacramento event?

Registration begins at 8am. We have to be done shooting by 430 pm and are usually off the range by 5 or slightly after that.

If you score 210 or better on the AQT then there is a patch that is awarded.

Then there is the Distinguished Rifleman....two strips awarded there one for scopes and one for iron sights.

Then if you feel up to a real challenge and a road trip, there are the Know Distance shoots (shoot targets at 100-400 yards) in Eagle Creek, OR.

Lots of fun to be had for all.

I'm thinking I might sign up and use my pc9. I'm still rehabilitating a leg injury but I think I can hang.

i signed up for the April one yesterday. I know its going to be a real challenge. I fine if not passing the AQT on my first try. I probably won't. But i will try my best. I'll be shooting with just Iron Sights so yea its going to be a challenge for sure.

We will work with you and your injury.

Project Appleseed eligible calibers are .17 to .32 caliber. Please make sure you are using an appropriate caliber.

See ya soon.

Am I reading this right?

So does that mean I use run my Ruger PC 9mm? It's a takedown rifle that fires a 9mm pistol cartridge.

Either way I have a few .22 rifles to pick from if I need to. I just picked up the pc9 recently and fell in love with it. I'd like to see how I can do with it.

Yep. 9mm is over the limit on calibers that Appleseed allows.

Think of it this way...you'll put about 400-500 rounds down range in a weekend. .22 is a bit cheaper than 9mm I think.

This.

Think you can shoot? Think your equipment is setup to be effective? At project Appleseed you'll find out for sure.

What?
How did I miss these two strips?
I guess I need to rig up a scoped rifle and hit the Appleseed firing line.

It's a great excuse to get to another shoot.
