Default Sacramento area Gunsmith?

I notice the Sacramento Gunsmith sticky is over 3 years old.
Can anyone recommend a GS to get my Kimber Solo firing correct? I bought it, fired about a 100 rounds out of it and then it sat for 2 years. Went to re-qualify my CCW and it jams every round. I hear that's fairly common. I need to either fix it or trash it. Not going to rely on something that isn't 100% reliable.
TIA

I sent Sleepy a message and never heard back. Any other local recommendations for a Gunsmith?

By chance, did you use Froglube?

Maraviov Gunsmithing in West Sac gets good reviews here. I've never used him. I use Ken Genecco, but he's in Stockton.

Maybe try polishing the feed ramp on the gun or replace recoil springs

Have you tried contacting Kimber? Their CS sucks, but try them before paying a smith to do what they should be doing.

Also, if the gun is that bad, why would you trust your life to it on a CCW?

I assume you cleaned it before laying it down for 2 years?

Craig Maraviov is at 10 N East St Ste 204. Woodland CA 95776. He's done revolver work for me for years and is top notch. I assume his semi auto work is just as good.

I have used both J&G and Gary Thiry multiple times and both did exceptional work.

Is this the same Gary Thiry who started California Family Fitness gyms? I have a great gunsmith who's located near Citrus Heights and specializes now in .45s. He does incredible gun bluing in his 10 tank system. PM for info.

Thanks for the replies.
I tried Kimber but they stated their warranty is 1 year and I know it's been over 2. They didn't sound real helpful.
I tried all the basic stuff, including cleaning, different ammo etc. If someone can make it reliable enough for a self defense weapon, for a reasonable amount of money I would like to keep it and use it. If not, I'll probably scrap it since I don't want to sell it and have it be someone else's issue. Like Code Blue mentioned, not going to trust my life to anything that isn't 100% reliable.

That was “Larry Gury”....

Gary Thiry (35 years ago) ran a small shop in a garage in a Sacramento mid-town alley. (Walls of tiny wooden box shelves holding parts, and Gary knew where everything was). In the 90’s, he moved to a store front in the mid-“30’s” of J Street. Some time ago, he was working out of the now closed “Just Guns” in North Highlands.

He has to be in his 80’s.

Thank you. I worked briefly for Larry Gury when he was on the parks board in South Sac. That was a very long time ago and my mind isn't what used to be, not that it was much better.
