Default beavertail on p01 does an ouch!!! LOL.

i don't know if this happens to anyone else but i recently started adding my cz p01 into my appendix carry rotation and man...if i come down hard/fast on that grip wrong, that beavertail stabs me right in the webbing between my index finger and thumb...ouch!! haha

i typically only carry the glock but since the cz just sits there...i started to add it...maybe won't be as much now...haha.

i'm sure it's happened to someone else right?!?!?! anyways...carry on!

I switch between a CZ P-01 and a Shield 2.0 - just comes down to training

I find my hand first hits the grip, then slides upwards into the beavertail - so don't have this issue with my draw.

And... don't rush your draw - it should be nearly identical every time. Practice slow, deliberate movements. Then speed them up. Over time, you'll be quick and accurate, every time. Rushing it to where you're actually hurting your hand is a recipe for losing control.

Good luck!

I don’t think he is referring to the draw. I think he means that when he sits down the beaver tail contacts his torso.

for sure, i always practice deliberate and slow motions to make sure i get everything right from grip angle to finger/trigger discipline etc...

i was just practicing a quick/fast draw today for any emergency situation where i needed to draw quickly against a surprise attack or something and i noticed that if i didn't get it right on that initial grip from the holster...that beavertail poking me isn't pleasant.

i didn't have to worry about that on the glock as it doesn't have such a pronounced beavertail and i can get a real high initial grip without having to slide hand around much to establish a good grip.

That might just be highlighting a weakness in your muscle memory.

If, under pressure, your draw is different, it means your draw still hasn't become "instinct". More practice will help correct this.

It could also mean your grip during a draw with the Glock is a bit too high up. I tend to choke up on my handguns as high up as possible, even giving myself some slide bite now-and-again

ahh good point! Thanks. Yeah it's the muscle memory since i just recently added the p01 to the rotation. It was all glock before. Will keep practicing till it become instinctive and the same every time.

thanks!!

And carry it for a while.

Then retrain when you switch back to the Glock.

dude me too...their waitlist is super long though from what i've heard....for the DA, i'm not a fan of..the reach for me is a little too far...and i notice that i sometimes wrap my finger around the trigger a little too much cuz of the curved trigger when pulling from DA...from SA i'm fine...

i'm almost tempted to just order the kit and do it myself but...maybe i'll have them do other stuff to it also...

good luck when you send yours in!

I have the complete Cajon trigger package done on my both 75 and P01, amazing transformation but I personally don’t carry any weapons with modified triggers.
