This is just the beginning with this one. It will only get worse.

Default Their ultimate goal has been accomplished

Their ultimate goal has been accomplished to confuse and complicate gun ownership even further. Very few if any part suppliers /dealers outside of CA are going to try to understand any of this craziness. And will simply not ship anything to CA in the future. This will likely happen well before 2024. The sad thing is you really can’t blame them.

Don’t comply, buy parts when out of state or have family send them. The industry is not going to serialize the parts they want you to background check.

They don't need to. You're already essentially having a background/eligibility check on ammo which has no SN.

Missed my point. If it’s not serialized...... how are they going to prove if you bypass the law and buy out of state because manufacturers are not going to serialize these parts.

What other markings are on the parts/packaging might a person keep? I know with ammo if they tried hard enough they could use the lot no to contact the mfg and ask when it was made.

What if it's an aftermarket part that falls within these guidelines that wasn't even made until after the ban takes effect such as a specific model of upper receiver from a mfg.

Just because it doesn't have SN doesn't mean it can't be dated... It is up to the government to go through the trouble of proving it. I wouldn't bank on the fact that no SN means it can't be identified at all.

All depends what other information / markings are available and what it is really.

Am i missing the point but what happens if you remove all removable markings, lot numbers, and other identification from the parts? All the state is doing is making a larger underground industry in parts and making wholesalers willing to help circumvent this law much richer.

I don’t keep my spare parts together in a bag, I have a bin with dividers that I keep spare parts organized..... there might be others here that do the same so they can find/locate a part easily.

The goal isn't to track every last part (at least with this bill) but to track sales by various entities to the public. Same with ammo. It's possible they could try to use markings to determine certain info to charge people but by and large it's to clamp down on sales.

And with this current iteration it only applies to unfinished lower receivers and frames.

I wonder if this only applies to the Ar and Ak only or to every single firearm in Korecalforina. If this apply only to these two firearm than it's under the 2A. Oh well then

They just slated more sales of AR parts in the next four years than the last four decades.

Dems - setting AR sales records time and time again.

What if California requires that all gun parts (except perhaps screws) be serialized? I mean we already have micro-stamping. The power to regulate is the power to destroy.

Is this real? We won't be able to purchase ANYTHING that can be a part of an AR without going through a damn background check??

They've just initiated a five-year tsunami of ARs into California.
