Default Got Lucky and found a G19

Well, I got "lucky" in that I happened to e-mail a store some unrelated questions the other day and was told that they had one in and to come in the next day. They didn't even announce it on social media. So I did that and was gouged big time but I decided to just suck it up because it's not going to get any easier for probably a year or maybe more. The way I see it, Trump wins riots will ensue and gun prices remain high. Biden wins, gun laws in danger of change, panic prices remain high. Economy is in the ****ter and artificially propped, gun and ammo prices might be high for a while. I contacted several stores and some told me they had to cut off the deposit after 100 people for JUST Glocks. So yeah, **** waiting for that.

I don't want to throw the place under the bus because they threw me a bone and am grateful so I won't mention which store but if you are curious you can dm. They charged 250 more than I thought it would've costed to give you an idea.

Cannot wait.

They charged you $250 over normal non-panic prices?

Still less than a used one in the MP.

If OP is happy, that’s all that matters.

Enjoy OP. It never ends at 1.

Some smaller stores are not getting much stock of anything. Some need to charge the “gouging” price to remain in business.

Its a delicate balance as a business owner. I for one would rather see higher pricing than the shop folding and not having any choices.

You went in knowing the situation and purchased something you felt you really needed during these times.
That gun will last you a lifetime and then some.
It is a good buy today.

Saw a G19 in my favorite GS today for $550, and I'm sure it's probably sold by now.

Sorry you paid a premium OP, but a good gun shop will sell Glocks at the regular pre-CV-19 prices because they want your repeat business after everything calm down.

$250 over list...... holy moley that is a bit of a premium! But then again I guess it comes down to what you are willing to pay for something that is currently unavailable.

I remember buying my Glock 19 brand new a couple of years ago for $450 otd because it was a Gen3. Nobody here in Nevada wanted the older models and the store just wanted to move it out to make room for different inventory.

Ouch, yeah that's exactly what I expected to pay. It hurts. I am grateful that I was able to get one from this store, but I certainly won't be buying any future ones from them out of principle. Mind if I dm you and ask which place so I know where to put all the rest of my my money moving forward?

You’ll “blow” way more than $250 in this fight/defense/hobby....consider yourself fortunate to get one in the present time

We all pay premiums, one way or another.

Paid $415 plus tax n dro for my new G19 n pick it up next week. Don’t know why people don’t just become a GSSF Member. Blue label dealers have glocks set side for members/first responders/veterans. So you don’t have to deal with the BS over pricing.

OP both the FFL once you get your G19

That won’t help OP now. You have to be a member for at least a year IIRC.

There will continue to be riots no matter who wins. The Dems can't control anarchists/commies. They can't even control gangbangers in Chicago.

Congrats on your new gun. Sometimes you gotta pay to play. Is what it is. You got what you wanted and $250 is nothing in the grand scheme of things. You’ll shoot that much ammo in no time, at least I do.

If it makes you feel any better, even in the rest of america, there are premiums over msrp added to guns that are hard to get even though they are currently made. The current best examples are HK Sp5 and 5k’s, Scar 16 and 17’s, and many offerings from B&T. Is what it is. You want it you’ll pay for it.
Same thing happens with desirable cars and watches. Try and buy a Rolex Daytona at msrp from a dealer.

Not true. You join for a 2 years or more years n you have a coupon in the mail in 3 days. Even with the membership fee. It’s cheaper. I just had a family Member n buddy do it. Family member Stopped at the blue label dealer put money down on a G34 n showed the FFL he join. Came back with the coupon 3 days later.

The home ffl I go to happened to have a glock 19 the day my buddy told me he wanted one. Early that day we called every place we could think of and found nothing. He charged my friend about $750 out the door. He gladly paid. It sucks but when there's a run thers a run, nothing we can do about it. Sometimes you've got to pay up if you want something in times like these.

How much is a membership? And how does being a veteran affect things?

Thanks!

At the Carol Watson auction in Orange County this weekend they sold a Glock 19 ANIB for $1180.00 including the buyers premium. This is more than double the price you could get one in December. Nobody forced anyone to buy this one it was a bidding war.

OP sucks that you need one at the most inopportune time and had to pay such prices.

I picked up a new G19 gen 3 last month for $562 out the door. Now I have three of them. I am a good customer at my LGS and they gave me their good guy pricing.

For those who complain about pricing...

This is not only the "supply and demand pricing" like the off-roster prices, but it's also the "free market pricing," quite unlike the off-roster guns. The shortage here is not due to a government regulation, at least not directly, but due to the normal market forces. Any manufacturer who can wrap up production can and will sell guns.

Also, $250 is nothing. Smidgen over a brick of .22LR in a few months...

LEO, first responders, mil retired, etc., qualify for Blue Label pricing without GSSF membership. Limit of two guns/year. Blue Label Progam

Veterans honorably discharged can access the program from Memorial Day through Veteran’s day.

GSSF provides the same pricing for the general public with membership. One year ($35) gets you a coupon at the end of 12 months.

Two year membership ($60) gets you a coupon immediately and another after 12 months.
