I’m IN!!!!!!!!!!

Can’t wait to see everyone and ring some steel and make hearty desert food!!

Thordo are you bringing your little tiny itty bitty steel this year? You know the one we scared with iron sights.

I’ll have firehose again for anyone that can use a hack saw. Maybe I’ll be able to keep this ship in dry dock long enough to go to the line after dark this year..... Unlikely though.

Epic idea actually.
After all, the cruel ironic coincidence is that the generation succeeding Millennials is Generation Z.

Full moon in November is November 30. Known as the "Beaver Moon."

The SSZS should happen at 1/2 moon, 1 week after the October 31 Full Moon. Which is a Blue Moon.

Another vote for weekend after election day. That way we can celebrate or we can drown our sorrows together.

My only thought on weekend after election is if there is civil unrest because they don't like the outcome... would not want to leave my family home while I go play in the desert...

There is a fence on the west side of the firing line. Someone purchased part of the property that we use and has begun to develop some kind of homestead.

Isn't that area BLM land? Can it be purchased, or are they squatters?

I sure hope they're 2A friendly.

If not, and they're anti's, better start looking for a new location.

Anyone know SB County regulations on legal distance to shoot in proximity of occupied dwellings?

The land that includes the firing line is subdivided and owned by this individual and a large family trust. There are pockets of private lands out there mixed in with public land.

Doesn't sound like anyone has posted evidence of "NO SHOOTING" signs anywhere on the fence, so at this point looks like it's a moot point.

I'm certain that this group doesn't create any problems anyway. It's the yahoos from the general public who leave a mess and generally destroy anything standing that they can lean/hang a target on.

Finally ( after more than a few decades) or so.

It seems some of those private parcels are inatially developing with permanent dwellings.

Planning a trip up there and I'll update as I can.

Wow, a fence?
I was gonna make an impromptu weekend camping trip to the spot when I made my last post. But that weekend had winds at like 15-35 mph so went somewhere else. I looked up the BLM info before leaving and it didn't return any info.

vs. what it says now. Can anyone take pics of the area?

I wonder how much he purchased it for... Maybe we should form our own trust and raise a permanent Calguns flag on a pole.

My man, I was waiting for you to chime in. You know that area better than almost anyone. Looking forward to either the same spot or another close by.

SSZS Fence

Looks like the fence is on the far west side of our firing line. Way past the point where our comfortable end point would be. The front entrance of the owner's homestead is clearly visible before you make the final left turn into where we setup our tent and RV city. The fence line is about 150 yards from where our firing line ends and it is incomplete. All our usual grounds are open, free, clean, and we are good to go.

I did a quick jot down of where the positions are relative to the grounds we occupy. I did not see any structures erected on site yet and it's far enough out of our way to not be a problem, yet inviting. Gate was open, partial fence, nobody there. I didn't go into the property. I included a bird's-eye overview in the link.

*edit*

Also, I forgot to mention. The runoff where RV's usually have trouble on the access road looks nice and strudy even with its steep side drop. I forgot to take that picture, but it didn't look like a problem and the horseshoe road around it was good. I just got back home and looking closer on my desktop, I found a second gate on the fence.
