Default PSAK-47 GTG?

Been thinking of adding an AK to the collection. The offerings from PSA caught my eye. Are these quality rifles? Reviews online seem favorable for the Gen 3 version.
What does Calguns think? Are these GTG or should I look into something else?

Did Rob Ski finish his 5k review yet? Don't know how many Calgunners have actually gotten hands on them since PSA doesn't have state compliant variants nor will they convert. Middleman would be the best route.

Rob Ski is doing one of his 5,000 round tests on a PSA GF3

1,000 rounds later
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEymlbp2t_Q

2,000 rounds later
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R16h-owdkco

3,000 rounds later
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxrOr2rC6BU&t=239s

4,000 rounds later ( retaining pin for the firing pin went missing )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKKt5MQSeHA&t=490s

I would go with wasr 10 over the GF3.

AKOU announced on social media, on 06-10-19, that they finished the PSAK47 GF3 5000 round test, but the video is still waiting to be cleared for upload by YouTube.

I took a gamble on the Palmetto State Armory PSAK-47 GF3.
^I volunteer as gunniea pig.

Used a middle-man FFL to acquire it (classic version) and make it CA legal (remove pistol grip), then ship it to a CA FFL dealer.
^Total cost was still less expensive than buying a WASR from Turner's.

Fit and finish is better than Draco, WASR and N-PAP.
Haven't gotten the time to shoot it yet.

I thought PSA would not ship their AK's to California. Did they change their policy?

no, but if you are referring to Quiet's post, he said he used a middleman, and had it sent to them, out of state, remove the pg, and then send it to his local FFL

Give us a 500-1k round count review

Un-related but I handled a Gen 2 Riley Defense AKM yesterday. Looked & felt great (Even compared to the WASR next to it) but people on Reddit could not run the gen 1 & R.D.'s name further down into the ground

So hard to tell what a bad rifle is. Good thing for the internets.

Will do.
But, I'm going in with the belief (garnered from personal experience) that the WASR is the best entry level AK currently available on the market.

PSA will not sell guns to Californians. You have to buy from me and instead of a $30 transfer fee I add $30 to whatever item you want. A $179 lower becomes $209. A 599 ak47 becomes $629. psa has not been charging for shipping so the $30 plus $25-30 for shipping from me is not horrible.

Very nice review of the USA made AK but I can't understand PSA's cavalier attitude about the out of spec firing pin retaining pin hole as noted in the comments of the 5000 round review. Maybe they don't make the bolt?

Keep a box of toothpicks in the range bag

I'm not sure what happened there but the problem should be corrected...? I wouldn't know these deep specs. but that pin is supposed to be tapered?

In the AKOU 5000 round video; Rob said that PSA was made aware of the issue, PSA stated it was a defect with one of their parts subcontrator/supplier, they have corrected the issue on new production, and if anyone has a similar issue with a previous production to contact them for a free replacement.

Oh, right. Should be squared away. I'm curious how much the upcoming "Enhanced" version would cost.

By the way: If you ever go to Raahagues, let me know if you need help increasing the round count

Unknown.
PSA is saying the only major difference from the GF3 is that it will have a FN USA (FNMI) made CHF barrel.

Also, the 5.45x39mm PSAK-74 GF3 is expected to be released Q3 2019.
