I took your advice and logged in right now and found an opening on 3/24/2021. I moved up 2 months just by reading your post. Thanks! I will continue to check every day (probably go overboard and check more often now to see if I can score an even better date).

Thanks again for the tip.

Haha, I think I just moved up from 6/9/21 to your old spot if it was 5/26/21! Nice work on scoring that date. Hope I can nail down a much sooner appointment.

I know this was asked months ago, but for people who have gotten their renewals recently, did your new card have an expiration date from when your current renewal was approved or two years from when the expiring card expires?

Did you normally check during business hours or random times?

Iíve been checking every day and havenít seen any openings. I attributed it to bad luck but wondering now if itís because I check late night after Iím done with work. Or combination of both.

Combination, during business hours around 10am or after 10pm some nights.

I just submitted my app for a new one and got a date of 6/23. I've heard that they usually move those up as they make it through the line. Any validity to that?

First off, congratulations!

To clarify, you had your interview in June 2020 and you just got your permit this weekend?

Training cert submitted, package complete. Thanks for the heads up.

The website still instructs applicants to select "pay at counter", I remember last time around, so 2 years ago, people were trying to pay online and it was hanging up. I chose "pay at counter", is this still an option and will it delay anything in a renewal?

Thanks

Can't recall exactly what I selected during the recent renewal but that was probably it (pay at counter). Previously if one selected to pay via credit card using the Web site, the charge would go through and later have to be refunded. Extra work for them. Now they will call you after the approval email to arrange for payment to be collected over the telephone.

Thanks, this is helpful. Is this the best way i.e. wait on Livescan and training until after the interview? I was thinking of maybe doing those (or the Livescan at least) while I'm waiting for the interview on the theory that may speed things up on getting an answer (hopefully approval).

I only did livescan and training after my interview because it was substantially moved up from originally expected. No problem doing it beforehand.

Lucky you!

I originally scheduled for a May interview but was about to bump myself to April and currently scheduled for 3/16/2021, but havenít been able to move it any closer. I actually completed all the live scan and training and got my Arizonaís non-resident permit already. Just waiting for the interview for CA.

Itís a good sign that Arizona gave me a permit, as that means thereís no issue with my background check.

I got an email from OCSC yesterday indicating that it was time to renew, with a link to the online portal, and telling me to ignore the message if i had already submitted.

That was a nice change from the you snooze you lose policy.

Seriously? After my interview I did training and livescan. Uploaded my training cert and was approved same day, CCW arrived in mail a couple days later.

My interview was 8/27 and I already had everything completed and submitted without any issues or requests for additional information. Card arrived in the mail on 10/23.

Currently still waiting on an amendment submitted 11/9.

I'm getting my Master's Degree in patience.

My patience is wearing thin. It looks like yours initially took almost 2 months, so I'll try to be patient for another 2-3weeks..

Search “good cause” in the CCW subforum and you’ll get tons of great info.

Side note: I haven’t had any luck in the past month bumping up my appointment.

Question, I am currently in the process of applying for my ccw (interview date of april 2021). I have a firearm that was qualified that I want to remove, is this hard to do?

Do you recommend I get approved first and then remove it?

or is it easy to remove it from application?

Thanks!

My original appointment was July 2021. I would check every time I sat in front of a PC for updates, almost to the point of checking every 30 minutes. After 6 successful bump ups, I got mine to Dec 8th of last year.

Do you recommend I get approved first and then remove it?

or is it easy to remove it from application?

Thanks!
Once you get approved, let the staff know you want to remove it. Theyíll do it before issuing your license.

First time applicant:

Applied online: 1/15/21
Interview scheduled: 7/7/21

I've uploaded all of the documents but I'm holding back on the CCW class and the Livescan until we get closer to the interview time.

Default Civil Lawsuit

I am scheduled for a CCW interview in Orange County but one part of my background got me concerned and I am not sure if it is an automatic disqualification or if it is up to the sheriffs discretion.

Two years ago I got behind on my student loans. My attorney was able to mitigate with the collectors and we negotiated a payment plan and I have been on schedule since. We never went to court but there was a judgment where I agreed to the payment plan. I attend to be honest and disclose this.

Besides that my record is clean, no traffic violations, nothing criminal or drug related.

Does anyone have any experience if this diminishes my chances to obtain a canceled license or is the sheriff more concerns about more sever violations?

Thankful for any insight!
