No, I came home. The rut is just starting but the bucks haven’t starting chasing, sniffing etc, I watched does for 3 days with no bucks with them.

I have a source there for the entire season and they are giving me the intel on the ground, if a get a call saying things are going off I’ll head back.

If things stay the way they are now I’ll be heading back for the last week. The season ends on the 18th and I’ve only heard of 2 bucks taken, a 3x3 and a 4x4.

You have a lot more patience than I do, and I admire you for it. You mentioned earlier that you let a 4x4 walk. I would have had a hard time doing that. Fork, yeah, 4x4....... I probably would have given in.

Lol, after I let him walk I went to my hotel to check out and come home. I then starting thinking about him, he was a typical 4x4 kinda heavy but no wall hanger… I went back to get a better look at him, I also thought how easy a drag etc … as to where he was. I’m glad he moved from where he was bedded when I got back or I may be done.

Hopefully good things come to those who wait.

The new binos are awesome, I’m a little surprised how far up the hill I can spot critters… they are crystal clear, nicest binos I’ve ever owned, my buddy has Swaros and said mine are just as clear. I have an older Bushnell Spacemaster with 20,45 and 60x zoom spotting scope.

Before I came home I spotted another Buck 3/4 way up the hill, I watched him for a hour with my binos, he bedded down and I couldn’t make out his size until I got the spotter out, 3x4 not very big or wide. He eventually made his way down towards me and I had him in my scope, I watched him walk over the hill….

It’s an overall great experience, I’ve met dads and sons with no tags that go every year for dads b-day just to see what’s going on. Numerous people gave me their number and said if I shoot something they will help get it out.. the hunting community is still alive.

Edit: Weather I score or not. (I Will)

Quit reading it if you don’t wanna hear about it.

Others said they want to hear about what’s going on.

Tag filled…. Tough hunt and the numbers are down. G3 had a avalanche a couple of years back and supposedly killed numerous deer. I took him to a local butcher here in Independence, he said it was one of the nicest he has seen, I asked about the giants and he advised very few around nowadays, so I’m still here until Sunday so he can process my Buck. After seeing what’s being taken and what’s out there I decided to take him…
