Just wanted to say hi! New enthusiast eager to learn and gain knowledge in this community!

Always have been having a huge interest in firearms, safety, law and being prepared and lucky now am in a financial place where I can take the leap to defend myself and my home.

Soon-to-be new owner in SoCal.

Been to the range a few times and tried some popular options (G17, G22, HK P2000, W P22, CZ SP01, Beretta M9), and finally taking the leap to join the ownership club.

Strong rule.

I was partial to the striker-fired, but I suspect that's mainly because most of my experience has been with Glocks. I was inches away from swiping the card on a G34 when the store rep recommended I run a couple mags through an SP01. I tried it and absolutely loved it.

Now I'm conflicted. The idea was a full-size pistol and a shotgun for HD and a compact single stack for CC. In my mind, it made sense to stay consistent with the full size and the compact (for instance G34 for HD and G43 for CC) so I'm not switching back and forth. If I stick to that idea and go with an SP01, I'd need an all metal hammer-fired CC...not sure how I feel about that.
