My socom16 has about a 1000 rounds through it all of which is surplus ammo, Australian, South African, Turkish and Pakistan
At 400 yards iron sites I can hit the gong without fail, no issues so far

Are there any versions of the BM-59 that are legal in this rotten state? A mag-fed updated Garand receiver would be nice to have.

...maybe because it's gas operated? Yeah I'll go with that answer.
Drilled over 7.62mm too deep, as in clear into THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BARREL.

Yeah, sounds completely normal to me.

Seems like this would be a terrible solution to the M1A question. Originals are called the BM-62. The ones that are being called BM-59 (full auto version) are recent clones made out of chopped up parts sets. Magazines are hard to find and expensive when you do find them.

You definitely get what you pay for with those high end rifles they are much more refined. If you just want a shooter then there's the SA

There are deals online all the time.
I picked up a SOCOM from PSA a couple years back for like $1300 IIRC and last year I got a James River (BULA) from Classic Firearms for about the same.

I've never fired the others but my Fulton was worth every penny. So much so I pretty much have one of everything he makes. I also have an S.A. M21 that is a pretty sweet shooter but weighs as much as a house.

I believe James River Armory produces some.
