Default New leather IWB from Nightingale finally arrived

After a 7 month wait my new IWB showed up for the 43X. This is a Snipe by Nightingale Leather, rough out (so the full grain lines the inside) with a smooth out exterior skirting. It is the best of both worlds without having to pay for a full grain liner.

You can get it with more customizations and exotic hides but I wanted to keep this one simple.

After just a few hours on the belt, I am already loving it for my summer rig

Man that looks great! I just got my ‘Osprey’ owb from him a few weeks ago.

I was looking at ordering a Snipe for a 365. Curious how he finished the inside with the screw posts

7 months? did they birth the calf wait and then make the holster? It does look great though. Nice.

Fear not! The nuts for the screw posts are sandwiched in between layers of leather. They do not come in contact with the gun. If you order the rough-out, there is nothing but smooth top-grain leather against your baby, top to bottom!

This maker is in demand for sure. I have been ordering at least one a year for several years, and the wait is always the same give or take a month. He has a steady stream of orders and repeat business.

Everything is done by hand including the saddle stitch (which cannot be done on a machine). Most leather holster makers even good ones use a machine to sew a lock-stitch, which does not compare for fail-safe durability. The leather is all premium hide from the USA (Wickett & Craig)

You can see some of the others I have here - these have elephant, shark, or Shell Cordovan reinforcements and loops

Very nice..figured that was the case. I’m really liking that combination of leather with the over-the-belt clip options that you typically only get with kydex. His work is top notch and those are some sweet rigs you have there.
Guess I better get on his books if I want one by NEXT summer..think his lead times are closer to 9 months now.
