Default Index thread for FEDERAL bills, 116th Congress, 2019-20

INDEX THREAD FOR 2019-20 Federal Bills

Procedural Note:
Bills submitted in the 116th Congress, 2019-2020, are alive until the next Congress convenes, Jan 3, 2021.

Bills submitted in the prior Congress, the 115th, are alive until January 3, 2019.
CONGRESS.GOV is the official record of bills proposed and in progress.

It also has schedules, members of the House and Senate, access to the Congressional Record, Committees and members - lots of interesting and important stuff.

Remember: Different from California legislative practice, neither house of Congress has any time limits beyond the beginning and ending dates of the Congress.

=================================

If you learn of a FEDERAL gun-related bill, please create a thread for it, and add a post in this thread so we can find that new thread after it has aged off the first page.

* Bill threads need HOUSE (S. for Senate or H.R. for House of Representatives) and the bill number in the thread title - even if the text is not yet available to quote or summarize.

Example: H.R.1234 - Boehner "Sunless tanning lotion bill of 2015"

* The body of the thread, first post, needs the link to Congress.gov or GovTrack or other web link where bill content and status may be found.

I've been saying that for years ...

There is no value at all complaining or analyzing or reading tea leaves to decide what these bills really mean or actually do; any bill with a chance to pass will be bad for gun owners.

The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.
