Let's see if the NJ supreme Court even would take the case.
If not, he can appeal directly to SCOTUS.

Good luck with that. The SC finally took on a gun case after a decade of doing everything they could to avoid them. It's the NYC case that has been a thorn in the side of Heller since 2009. They will hear it next year. No guarentees either with Roberts at the helm.

Meanwhile there are dozens of other cases awaiting and being avoided by the SC. At this rate it ought to take about 75 years?

They have been avoiding the cases because of Kennedy. RBG passes and it is 6-3. Even if you don't trust Roberts it's still 5-4.

I lost track of this case, but in case it goes through CA3, Trump just flipped it to a majority of judges having been nominated by Republicans.

This case is almost the same as Rogers but pretty much moot proof, as plaintiff never asserted any special need or occupation (Rogers services ATM machines so carried cash regularly). I would believe NJ might be willing to throw Rogers a permit and basically allow CCWs for those in his profession. Not so for Cheeseman.

Cheeseman's case is based on bad law. So they can't issue a permit to him to end it. The case was split from Jilliard. So there are actually 3 cases now. Not sure where Jilliard stands. Rogers they absolutely could issue him a permit and end his standing.

From Cheeseman's SCOTUS docket page: "Jun 28 2019 Petition for a writ of certiorari filed. (Response due August 1, 2019)"

So far, a response is not showing.

Now on the same docket page:

Quote:
Aug 14 2019 DISTRIBUTED for Conference of 10/1/2019.

Aug 14 2019 Waiver of right of respondent John Polillo to respond filed.
I've got a feeling Polillo may be told to respond....

I'm pretty sure they're supposed to file the waiver before the response is due...

So the entire back case load is dependent on Ruthy dying? I don't think so. It's Roberts, he's another Kennedy and he will continue to block gun cases even after Ruthy is gone.

We really need a new Chief Justice.

If witch is dead hopefully her replacement will make Roberts moot. Pray for Trump 2020
